Description of 1951 Other Makes Kaiser

I have changed the wording of my description here because I have been told that there is some discrepancy in the body number. You are bidding on a 1951 Kaiser Deluxe. This car is a clone of a 1952 Kaiser Virginian. 1952 Virginians were nothing but leftover 1951 models that Kaiser did not want to sell at leftover model prices. Therefore, enry Kaiser added a continental kit, hanged the hood ornament from clear to black and added the Virginian badging on the fender. When Henry Kaiser implemented the conversions at the factory, e also sent the kits to the dealers to install. I am told that there was a variance on how well the dealers followed through....therefore, hey may not have all been the same. Part of the conversion was the changing of the body tag numbers from K512 to K522 but the dealers may not have changed them. So there is no way of knowing whether or not this was an original conversion, ut that is how it has been advertised for sale as far back as we can tell. Collectible Automobile magazine of March 1985 states there are no production numbers known for Kaiser Virginians. Kaiser sold the conversions from December of 1951 until they ran out of leftover 1951s in March of 1952, hen they introduced the regular run of 1952 models. This particular car was part of an RM auction in 2008. It was from the collection of broadcasting magnate Art Astor and has spent its entire life in southern California until I bought it. I have kept it in a heated garage ever since.
For a look at the story of Art Astor's collection and actual RM auction page for this car, ee the following 2 links: Astor Collection and RM Auctions
Although the car was in excellent condition when we bought it, t had been sitting in the collection for several years, o we put some money into it to bring it up to daily driver condition as we wanted to drive and show it. The car takes first and second places in shows (including Dedham, ass. and Hemmings in Bennington, T. We are including the Hemmings medallion) and is completely rust free. We changed the hood ornament and badging to comply with the Virginian changes. We had a (Kaiser correct) rebuilt engine installed, ew wiring harness custom made by a Kaiser specialist, ompletely rebuilt the transmission, adiator and lines cleaned, ew wheel cylinders, ew shocks and leaf springs, arburetor rebuilt, ew fuel pump, tarter rebuilt, teering box rebuilt with new parts, ew battery, new American bias classic tires on the front, ack bias tires are excellent. We added NOS steering wheel and horn ring as well as NOS chrome trunk hinges. Original radio and clock both work. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the horn because I was not able to thread the wire back down through the steering column when I changed the steering wheel. This car is all original except for: we added an electric fuel pump with switch, volt fan with switch, nd 6 volt alternator but I have kept the original generator and brackets if you want to change it back. I also have some extra parts which I am including. Included in the auction are all manuals, rophies, ocuments (including several manuals, rochures, nd original unused 1951 collector Kaiser calender), ustom show sign with tripod stand, ustom arm rest with cup holders. Too much more to list, mail with questions. I have most, f not all receipts for work and parts. I also have a 24' enclosed car hauler trailer for sale (trailer is not included in this auction.) that I customized to haul this car. (tow it home yourself!) Contact me if interested.
