Description of 1928 Other Makes Ahrens Fox M-S-4

1928 Ahrens Fox M-S-2 pumper. Originally served New Orleans, A. Truck was purchased by Station Casino and restored in the late 1980's. It used to attend all the parades and events in the Kansas City area. Later, tation Casino changed their marketing away from antique fire trucks and donated the truck to Union Station in Kansas City. It was used occasionally in parades until a major clutch failure sidelined it a few years ago.
We purchased the truck and totally rebuilt the clutch and drivetrain parts that were damaged. The truck runs well and the pump operates and sounds good. We have not pumped it but based on our experience with these trucks usually if they engage they pump. There is no major rust in any of the panels. The original gas tank is not used, ne was added behind it at some time in the past.
The final photo shows discoloration on the right frame where we had to heat up the cross member to straighten out some minor damage due to the clutch failure. There was not a fire. There is also a small hole in the valence where a piece of the clutch housing hit the valence.
All the systems of the truck were checked and repairs made where required.
