Description of 1942 Other Makes

For SALE or TRADE! Beautifully restored 1942 Nash Ambassador 6 Slipstream Sedan
This quality pre-war Nash has just been professionally detailed and
polished and is ready to wow the crowds wherever she goes! This peppy 42' Nash with a "three on the tree" transmission with overdrive is a ton of fun to drive, with excellent handling and smooth shifting. The car handles great and cruises along at 50mph free from rattles or squeaks with its solid 6 cylinder Nash engine (234.8 piston displacement). This Nash is one of the best driving pre-war cars I have ever owned.
The car received a full professional cosmetic and mechanical restoration in 1988, with all new interior, door panels, headliner, carpet, paint, white walls, wood grain, steering wheel, gauges, wiring harness, rebuilt engine, transmission and drive train. The car comes with a well documented folder of parts and restoration receipts, original shop manuals and sales brochures. After the extensive restoration, this beautiful Nash spent many years in a car
museum in the the western United States. The car has always been stored inside a museum or a garage. The body, door, and fender panels of the car are very straight and the undercarriage of the car is clean with no under coating.
Although the body and chassis are rust free and solid, the lacquer
paint has a few blemishes/scratches has been professionally touched up in a few areas. Overall the paint is very nice and shiny. The restored stainless, pot metal and hubcaps are in good to fair condition, and the chrome is in very good condition with very little pitting, dents or tarnish as seen in the photos. The restored headliner and door panels are in great shape and the gray corduroy seats and carpet are in good condition and have just been cleaned. All glass and bias ply tires are in good shape. These slight imperfections on do not take away from the charm and appeal of the car. I would say this car is a true "five footer" in 2.5+ condition that can be taken to the next level or enjoyed as-is.
Here is your chance to own a unique, stock, pre-war Nash that stands
out from the crowd. This rare and classic 42' Nash with its handsome two tone paint combination of strato and marlin blue looks great and gets tons of smiles and attention wherever it goes. The true "orphan car" has has a lot of really cool and unique design cues like four bumper guards, signature split stream fast back, chrome window surrounds, sweeping chrome turn/parking light spears, white plastic deluxe steering wheel, beautiful rich wood grain dash and window frames, tons of fender trim, massive and gleaming stainless art deco dash complete with a working AM radio!
The car is sold as-is, with inspections and test drives welcome on site. Clear California title. Currently registered and insured. For more info or to see a video "test drive" and walk around and 150 photos, please contact John at 650-302-5681 johnbisceglie@gmail.com
The starter could use a new bendix spring, and the clock and gas/temp gauge are not currently connected.
