Description of 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite

LAST CHANCE TIL NEXT SPRING - will NOT be listing again in 2018!

Up for sale is my 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite - RoadRunner A12 Tribute (86k miles).
This car started as a bronze car with a tan vinyl top and a 318. The owner's wife put sugar in the tank and smashed out the rear glass. The previous owner, who worked at Dayton Andrews Dodge in Florida, took the car and had a '72 440 rebuilt (approx 2k miles and I have the paperwork) with a cam, and headers. The car runs like a dream with the 727 shifting just fine (never slipped or hesitated). He added to that a replica fiberglass hood. The paint - which I think is a 9/10 - looks fantastic. I've been told that it is Surf Turquoise from 1968, but it is otherwise a very nice teal. There are no dents, gashes, or the like. It probably could use a professional buff/wax job, but is otherwise very good. The car also has a new grille, and headlight bezels. The bumpers have zero rust but could use freshening. They are however very clean. Steering grommet is a bit too lose and should be replaced, but I don't mind it. This car is supposed to look like the A12 440 Roadrunner of the same year. There were few made and fetch some $80,000+.

The interior needs a bit of beautification, but is otherwise just fine. The original wheel, that had been full of age and wear, has been replaced by a modern Plymouth wheel. The carpet is brand new as are the Satellite floor mats. The carpet needs tucked under the front kick plates, but otherwise looks good. I replaced the door sills and bought a new package tray for the rear. The front seats are non-rip, non-hole seats, but are covered because the rear piece has fallen out of the back (it is all there, just in need of repair). The covers work very well though. The radio, clock, and tach do not work, but the speedo, wipers, washer, lights, hazards, dome light, cigarette lighter, and gas gauge do. The speedo is off as you go faster and I'm not sure if tires or cord is at fault. At 50, you are going 54. At 60, you are going 68ish. I used my phone to check and it is off all the way up. The dash color is ugly and could be replaced or covered. I bought a cover but it was hideous.

The underside is rather spotless. I have seen no rust spots, the trunk is clean, and the quarter panels look fantastic. I had to put the car through an advanced inspection due to the damage the wife caused and the car passed everything save a brake boost issue. That was fixed as well. The exhaust is older, but is still ok. It is relatively quiet until you hammer the throttle. This car will not disappoint in straight line performance. Highway cruising is also very comfortable and speeds of 65 or so is easy as cake (though it rumbles up well past that.)

The wheels are in good shape and the centers are standard Satellite flare with all the chrome rings and the centers look really good. I think all of the chrome is present on the car save for MAYBE the wheel arches, but I'm not sure the car originally came with them. The rear sports dual exhaust and I will include Roadrunner tips that I never put on ($35+). The rear lights, directionals, and back-up lights work. The front lights, high-beams, and directionals work (save for the right hood marker - sometimes doesn't light up.
I have tried to mention everything I can from the 2+ years of ownership. I have been to numerous car shows and have always felt very comfortable. An updated interior and some shine on the bumpers would really move it up, but it is otherwise great. If there are any questions please ask before bidding. Zero feedback members need not bid. Anyone with 80% or lower, please email first.

The car can be driven home at buyer's discretion, but I would recommend trailering it any real distance. I've driven 30 miles at a time, but at 10mpg, wouldn't suggest a long trek. I had it transported from Florida for about $600 and it was worth the stress. I will help set up the transport company, but fees are buyer responsibility. There is a $750 non-refundable deposit due within 72 hours of purchase and the balance can be paid by bank check, personal check (after clearing), or wired funds. You may also use paypal for final payment, **but a 6% fee will be added**. I am located 15 miles from Pittsburgh, PA. Email if you would like to view the car before purchase. The car is sold AS-IS and you will not be able to walk away after buying the contract, so ask questions and come look before buying. NO trades, or payment plans. Thanks.
