This is a 1951 Riley RMB. It is powered by a 2.5 litre - 2500 cc 4 cylinder, double overhead cam original engine. It has two SU carburetors with a manual transmission and hydro-mechanical brakes. This British Saloon was purported to be 100hp and capable of 100 mph with 4 passengers. This car runs and drives and sounds really good - it had considerable work done by the present owner. eBay makes you put mileage on the sheet but it is exempt due to age - the mileage is not correct.

The 2.5L (2443cc) RMB was a lengthened RMA launched a year later in 1946.

It used the 2.5L (2443cc) "Big Four" engine with twin SU carburetors, starting with 90hp (67kW) but increasing to 100hp (75kW) for 1948 with a 95mph (153km/h) top speed.

The wheelbase was 6.5in (165mm) longer and the overall length was a full 7in (178mm) longer. The RMB was replaced by theRMFfor 1952.

A car tested byThe Motormagazine in 1949 had a top speed of 90mph (140km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60mph (97km/h) in 16.8 seconds. A fuel consumption of 19.6 miles per imperial gallon (14.4L/100km; 16.3mpg‑US) was recorded. The test car cost £1224 including taxes.[6]
