Nicknamed der Panzerwagen “Armored Car” weighing in at more than 3. 00 pounds was a completely new body shape for model year 1972. A completely new SOHC 4. 5 litre V8 engine was housed underneath the long sculpted hood and mated to a 3-Speed automatic transmission. 1981 model year saw the launch of the 380SL model. which introduced the new aluminum 3. 8 litre V8 engine. It was much lighter and more efficient but still retained its predecessor’s excellent performance characteristics. With more luxury refinements and driver comforts. the 380SL became the must have luxury performance roadster. However which way the driver chose to drive the car. hardtop. soft top or top down. the SL was the epitome of classic luxury sports motoring. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this beautiful 1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster finished in Classic White with Blue leather. This SL left the Stuttgart production line in December of 1984 and was then invoiced to Mercedes-Benz North America. The car was then sold to its first owner in March of 1985 in Fort Worth Texas and has remained there ever since. It has traveled a mere 63. 50 miles since new and is fully documented by Carfax. The Classic White Mercedes-Benz paint is in excellent condition and still shows very nicely. There are no defects other than a small scratch on the back driver side fender. one small one on the back passenger fender. two tiny touch ups on the back fender and a few tiny chips on the driver door edge. All of the chrome and exterior trim are still in excellent condition and do not show any damage. The leather interior is still in all original and in excellent condition. The driver seat shows very minor creasing but is still soft. All of the original carpets are in good condition and free from any stains or tears. The center console and dash are in excellent condition (there is a Mercedes dash cover) and do not show any wear or damage. All of the wood is still in great shape with only two hairline cracks around the window switches. The original Becker radio is operating as designed along with the power antenna. The AC and heater are operating as designed without any issues and all of the power options like door locks. mirror. windows and all interior lighting are working. All of the exterior lights are working as designed. The car starts right up and idles smoothly. There are no leaks and the car does not smoke on start up or when running. It shifts into gear with ease and accelerates smoothly with excellent power from the engine. The car has just been serviced and runs and drives superb. The suspension and steering feel excellent and solid and free from any unusual sounds or issues. The brakes feel excellent ad free from any fading or squeaking. The tires have about 75% tread life left and the brakes are about 40-50% life. The convertible top is almost brand new and fits excellent. There is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car and no signs of damage or accident history. The car comes with a clean and clear Carfax and is an actual miles car. It starts right up and runs beautifully. The car comes with two original Mercedes-Benz huff keys. original owner manual. spare. jack and the original first aid kit.
