From the Owner:

This 1953 Packard is top-of-the-line Patrician. It has a soft, warm interior. The Rear Springs have been replaced with new ones built to Packard specifications. Shocks are new adjustable QA1 Shocks.

The car is powered by a new crate engine, 400 HP and 400 lbs/ft torque. It was professionally installed. The car has a new gas tank and is internally coated with a specially fabricated overflow, so you won't smell gas unless you overflow when filling.

The Speedometer reads 5073, matching the time I installed the new Dash Instruments. The new ZZ5 engine has about 600 to 700 miles on it mainly around town and to a few car shows and a couple of short trips of about 60 miles. It scoots on the freeway with a soft, comfortable ride. Uses High Grade fuel only and gets right at 16 miles mpg on the road. This ZZ5 engine is a Small Block and weighs approximately 375 less than the original Straight 8. Front springs have been adjusted to compensate for a liter front end. ZZ5's are well known for their Aluminum “fast burn” Heads. It has Dual Flowmaster Exhaust, mid range sound.

The 700R4 transmission was specially built for the engine and vehicle weight. We added extra clutch plates to the lower gears and some heavier servos to handle the 400 lbs/ft torque.

I removed the old wire wheels and the WSW Tires as the were deteriorating and the spokes were corroded. Wire Wheels and WSW's can easily be reinstalled for a true Packard look.

It has Disc Brakes in Front and new brakes in rear Drums. The car has new Wheels built to specification with no Air Vent, so the Disc Brake Dust can not get through to outside of wheel. Wheels were built with heavier metal and built for Radial Tires.

The Front end is Rebuilt and aligned, the Speedometer has been calibrated and adjusted for accurate operation. Water Temperature runs a consistent 200 degrees and will not overheat with the huge cooler fan. The wiring is all upgraded. It has a new fuse box and the battery is in the trunk with a cut-out-switch hidden on the dash to prevent theft. The Doors were all removed, the glass removed and all the mechanical were bead blasted and reinstalled with new leather washers and all function like the should. The car is undercoated as were all Packard's at the factory in the fifties.

There are a few added switches at the dash for back up lights, electric fan override, courtesy lights and electric windshield wipers.

I have owned the car for 36 years. Thank You
