MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer another classic luxury car from the pre-World War II era, a 1939 Packard Super 8 Sedan. Only 3,962 examples were manufactured in 1939. This recently restored 1939 Packard Super 8 Sedan just recently came from a prominent museum. It is a very nice driver quality Packard with a recent high quality black paint finish. This Packard is very attractive and delivers a compelling opportunity to enjoy a pre war classic with plenty of interior space and the iconic Packard name sake."Ask a man who owns one"

Finished in stately black paint, this car's exterior is in very good overall condition, as is its trim. Its glass panels are in good shape, clear and crack-free. The car's lights are in good order. The car rides on wide whitewall tires with factory wheel covers. Both wheels and tires are in good condition. The car's body panels are straight and solid, the bumpers are in very good shape and the engine bay is tidy. There are even a dual side-mounted spare tires covers riding in the canyon between the front fenders and the hood.

Under the vee-shaped hood is Packard's smooth 320 CID inline eight-cylinder engine, the last year it was available. It is backed up by a three-speed manual transmission with full synchromesh, including a hill-holder mechanism.

Inside, the tan cloth bench seats are in very good shape, no tears or rips. The matching carpet is in good order, while the silver dash panel with tachometer could use some repair and also the original three-spoke steering wheel. Please note that the speedometer and the wipers are inoperable and also the passenger side front window is cracked. The inner door panels, mirror glass and shift lever are in good condition. The inner windowsills are finished in a gorgeous woodgrain. In addition, there is a B&B deluxe heater under the dashboard.

Packard's biggest changes for 1938 were within the Super 8 series. Available Super Eight bodystyles went to six from 15 the year before. The Super 8 came with a column-mounted gearshift lever for the first time and overdrive was made available. The inline eight-cylinder engine had a cast-iron cylinder head for better durability. Compression ratios and rear axle ratios were updated for additional refinement.

Competition to this Packard in 1939 included Cadillac's Sixty Special, Lincoln's Zephyr V-12 and Chrysler's Imperial.

This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 59,979 miles since the gauges were tested and reset. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, exempt mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
