Description for Packard Model 1001 1933

The Standard Eight was now known as the Eight this year, horsepower was now up to 120 with new engine refinements such as a new dual downdraft Stromberg carburetor, revised manifolds, an automatic choke and smaller flywheel. Three-point motor suspension was adopted. The Bendix-BK vacuum booster brakes of the Twelve were added. Wire wheels were now standard, with disc and wood optional. The angle set hypoid differential introduced on the Light Eight was also included. The former vacuum-plate clutch was replaced by a single-plate. The fender-mounted battery and toolboxes were gone, and the new pivoted pane window ventilation would be offered this one year only on all Eights and Twelves.
I acquired this 1933 Packard from a 65 year family ownership. An amateur body off restoration was completed many years ago and enjoyed and used ever since. The interior is very nicely done as the pictures will clearly show. Has a 12V AM/FM radio hidden in glovebox (car is 6V). Starts easily in all conditions, no overheating issues, and I believe everything works. Has long rear axle gears for touring. As the owner aged, he had power steering added so he could continue to drive and enjoy. I purchased from his estate early 2017 and have enjoyed this 1933 Packard Eight for all of 2017. It is now time to let it go to its next caretaker for miles of smiles.
Please note the engine number is388060and the car is titled with VIN174959
