Full partition with many accessories! One of only 1900 180s built in 1940! CCCA Full Classic! By the early 1940s. Packard had established itself as one of the world’s premier automakers. Continual improvements to drivability and style meant that Packard’s future looked bright…until WWII started. However. 1940 was still good in the financial sense and Packard introduced the new senior Custom One Eighty Series to appeal to the wealthiest automobile buyers. These upscale cars featured a new 356ci L-head Inline 8 engine that utilized aluminum pistons. cast iron head. Stromberg carburetor and produced 160 horsepower! For the first time ever on a production car. air conditioning was optional on the new 180 series and Packard managed to sell 1. 00 of their most extravagant cars in 1940.
