Description of 1985 Peugeot 505

1985 Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel Wagon

This fine example of a Peugeot 505 TD wagon came to us from its 14 year previous owner. My very good friend and exclusive, hobbyist Peugeot Mechanic in the PNW has been this cars only caretaker during and actually found this car for his customer 14 years ago. This wonderful survivor has been loved and cared for by the previous owner who simply can no longer drive and has asked us to find its next loving owner. This car was originally sold by De Lon Peugeot of Salem Oregon and has one other previous owner. The car, again, has been maintain by either them, and with the second owner, my friend. This car has always gotten everything it ever required to be a solid and reliable car and it shows. A prime rust-free Oregon example. I have a clean clear Oregon Title. This car will be sold with its current registration plates on it except for Oregon Residents because of previous problems.

Exterior:

As noted above, this is a rust-free Oregon Always car, it was repainted sometime in the last 10 years and is pin straight and always garage kept during the previous owners possession. It does have some light scratches and chips one should expect from a 10 y/o paint job. All trim is correct and intact, bumpers nice, all lights work correctly. The car was retrofitted with a set of rare Euro headlights. Rear window seal was just replaced and the car given a complete detailing. The dual mirrors are also power. The car is sitting on a set of factory 15 alloy wheels that are very nice but missing their center caps. I have a few suggestions just ask.Needless to say, this is a very attractive example!

Interior:

This car is extremely well optioned! This car has, Power windows, all serviced and working correctly, Heated Seats working, Cruise Control (not working), Air Conditioning (needs a belt and service I assume). Heater and defroster working, and a once high end AM/FM Cassette player, the radio works, I have not tried the cassette player. 2 buttons are missing on it as seen in pictures. The Power antenna has been replaced with a static aftermarket antenna. Tinted windows, rear window defrost, intermittent front wipers and rear wiper as well. The carpets are Original and beautiful with front mats as well. The car was originally a leather seat car, the rear seat looks like it had never been sat in, the fronts had been swapped out for the Peugeot cloth seats when the PO bought it because they are far more durable and much more comfortable. Dash has suffered the ravages of time to a lesser degree that others I have seen and is still quite presentable (see pictures). All door panels are pristine as is the cargo area. Headliner is perfect. The Instruments work fine except for the tachometer (very common problem in Peugeot Diesels)

Mechanical:

This car shows 188964 miles (will increase some while on auction). I just drove it 43 miles at highways speeds and it ran like a top. It just received 3 weeks of attention from my friend who went over the car from bumper to bumper to give it a clean bill of health. Some of the items he addressed were a valve adjustment, all injectors tested and 2 replaced, replaced glow plugs, all fluids checked and topped off, inspection of front and rear suspension and brakes. The Automatic transmission fluid is clean and bright, and the transmission shifts flawlessly. The car lights off instantly after the glow plugs goes out but does have a remote starter switch on the dash. Tires are OK, front look fairly recent, but the rears should be replaced soon. That being said, if you had a mind to fly to Portland, yes I would be comfortable to point this car in any direction and drive.

Additional notes:

The car has an aftermarket voltage gauge installed in and where the ash tray is. It has a remote starter switch. It has different ignition and door locks and does have the rear hatch key. It has a battery cutoff switch on the battery for long term storage. It also has a block heater, the plug is shown to the right of the front grill.

Please examine pictures closely and observe my feedback.

Transaction:

I have set what I believe to be a moderate reserve on this car. Car is sold as is where is, buyer responsible all transportation. I can store the car for a very limited amount of time and must be agreed upon. Deposit is required 24 hours of 20% via Paypal, and I prefer the balance in the form of a cashiers check of bank transfer or cash. I am duly authorized by the owner to act on his behalf for the disposition of this vehicle. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding, I will answer in a timely manner and supply additional photos upon request.
