Description of 1968 Plymouth GTX GTX

1968 Plymouth GTX- 2 door hard top-440 V8 engine--RWD--mileage: 45. 06--Yellow with Black Stripes--Black interior--8 cylinder--Automatic transmission--Air conditioning--Cruise Control-- Power windowsNut & Bolt Rotisserie Restoration- Everything on this car has been restored. rebuilt or replaced. This car is as close as you can get to a new 47 year old car & the most heavily optioned 1968 Plymouth GTX I have ever seen or heard of. Only about 150 miles has been put on this car since being totally rebuilt. It is NOT A NUMBERS MATCHING car. The 440 engine block has a 1971 date code. I had it bored 30 over & built back to 1968 specs. The transmission and rear end have been totally rebuilt. It was quite a treasure hunt to find every part & piece to get all the options on this car working. but they do work. All I had of the power trunk lock was the vacuum line & I could not find the rest of the components. so the trunk lock is now electric. The disc brake calipers are a later style because the factory 4 piston calipers were not rebuildable. It does have the original rebuilt Master Cylinder & Booster. This car originally had an AM radio with the fader in the dash & the rear speaker. The AM radio did not work. so I installed a refurbished AM / 8 track radio that I had. with the factory fader & factory rear speaker. This car originally had the black square in the middle of the hood (performance hood treatment) but I chose to put the 1969 black stripes on it since it was not a numbers matching car & I like the way they look so much better. All the rest of the options are 1968. I drove it in our local parade on a 100 degree day. it idled along the parade route for at least an hour with the AC running and there were no overheating issuesThis was a Colorado car & almost rust free. The only bondo on it was to straighten out minor imperfections before it was painted. I don't know how to verify this. but I am guessing this car may have been built for a Chrysler Executive since it is so heavily optioned for 1968.
