Description of 1973 Plymouth Road Runner

This 1973 Plymouth Road Runner is a mean big block V8 machine that knows how to look the part. After all, this long coupe has two-tones of darkness on the outside, and most of the brightwork is just there to draw even more attention to some cool performance upgrades.

This is a nice color for a car like this. It's a dark blue and a more modern application. So the deeper tone sets the performance mood, and the clearcoat luster lets the sun highlight the straightness of the sheetmetal. Plus, there's an even darker side with plenty of black accenting. It draws attention to some of the best features, like the power bulge in the hood with 440 callout, the premium-style half vinyl roof, the thick C-pillar that gives this a sporty profile, and the form-fitting rear bumper. And while they left some nice brightwork on the window trim and front bumper, your favorite shining piece will undoubtedly be the outlaw-style racing wheels. They hint at some added performance, especially with the extra meaty set in the rear.

The black accents of the exterior get you ready for the all-black interior. This has nice space, and the fundamentals have the dark and clean appearance of quality. There are even some good comfort features, like a fresher reupholster of the high-back bucket seats and the addition of the cup holder center console. But in this all-black interior, the Hurst Pro-Matic shifter is like a glowing beacon of light, and it signals something nice under the hood.

The big blue block radiates from within the engine bay, just like on the exterior of the car. This is Mopar's mighty 440 cubic-inch V8. While that should already be enough to get you excited, this one also has a four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum radiator, and long tube headers that add power while contributing to the rumble of the X-pipe dual exhaust. The TorqueFlite A727 three-speed automatic is a stout unit that knows how to handle the power while delivering smooth shifting. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and sway bars front & rear.

This is your chance at a mean-looking big block Mopar for an obtainable price. So don't miss out, call today!
