Description of 1964 Plymouth Barracuda

The 1964 Plymouth Barracuda was the first year to launch the now-legendary model, but you can instantly see this one has more going for it than just history. With an awesome custom paint package, bucket seat interior, four-on-the-floor, and strong V8 power, this one is built to be a driver's classic.

You can instantly tell this is no factory car. The has a vibrant look and a terrific clearcoat finish to really radiate against the body. And this design is really worth showing off. The new Barracuda may have been a direct competition to Ford's Mustang, but it was hard to argue about who has more style. After all, it showed off its fastback with a revolutionary piece of wraparound rear glass. Those bumpers shine brightly from a solid investment in chrome. Plus, there's a full-length body crease that starts at the crisp hood and sleekly shows off the whole profile - all the way to those artful taillights. And you see it so well because the sheetmetal has been treated with care. You'll also love this one for more than just getting the stock pieces right. The black upgrades look terrific against the orange paint, and they give it plenty of sporty style. You see it in places like the dual display hood scoops, front spoiler, and modern 17-inch XXR alloys.

All those black accents of the exterior also get you ready for a full black interior. This has the fresh look and feel of a recent investment. Everything feels nice, right down to the details, like the new window cranks and the Barracuda floor mats. So you'll happily show this one off. In fact, there are plenty of cool features, like the fold-down rear seat. And while the factory AM radio is something nice to talk about, the real driving music comes from a modern AM/FM/CD stereo in the glovebox that has an upgraded speaker system and an input for your iPod. This one was built with the driver in mind, and that's why you have well-done upgrades like the wood-rimed steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and a SunPro Super Tach. That last one goes particularly well with the iconic Hurst pistol grip shifter.

Part of why the Barracuda was a star right from the start was that V8 power was always an option. This one celebrates that history correctly with a 273 cubic-inch unit, but you can also see it has been enhanced for power and poise. The V8 has upgrades like a Summit four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, and Hooker Super Competition ceramic-coated headers that add extra power and a nice tune to the dual exhaust. And within that crisp and clean engine bay, you'll also spot the right supporting components, like the steel braided hoses, new wires, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. It's a strong power package, and you have full control firmly in your hands thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Plus, there's power steering, front disc brakes, and grippy Nankang Noble Sport tires.

This is a stunning Mopar built to enjoy the drive and steal attention when you arrive. Don't miss this cool deal. Call today!!!
