Description of 1983 Pontiac Trans Am Daytona Pace Edition

DAYTONA PACE CAR 25th Anniversary EDITION - 2 TONE with BUTTON WHEELS
It is staggering but true....NADA values this car between $8090 - $24440 low to high retail
This is a 5 speed and 1 of 520 made. The original engine failed (but is included in this auction) and a 350 engine was put in.
The car runs solid and strong. The car has things that need attention but nothing overwhelming. In the meantime you can drive the car and enjoy it.
GOOD:
Very fast 350 engine (don't know all that has been done to it, ut it's quick)
Original engine block/heads with numbers matching come with this auction
Interior is exceptional (carpet is amazing, eadliner is newer, ash/bezels/trim all nice, eats are nice, oor panels like new)
Rear hatch sunvisor is present and in super condition
T-top back is buckled in in the rear hatch and in pristine condition
Wonderful Recaro seats (this is an upgrade in NADA)
T-tops and trim are in near perfect condition
All glass is good
No rust found anywhere
All tires are at least 75% tread
No leaks
All gauges work
Has the factory knee pad for driver's right leg
BAD:
Couple stains on the headliner
A couple cracks on the dash - edge is cracked
The front seats had to have the center area reupholstered and it is not suede
Discoloration on tops of rear seats from the sun
Seat belts are not retracting
There is something that splattered on the hood/fender and it damaged the paint (see pic)
The old engine blew oil on the rear bumper and it has faded but is noticeable
The alternator belt squeals for 30 seconds on start up
The valve covers seep a little and you can smell it a tad after driving
Door glass plastic on exterior has cracking
Top plastic piece on door has a crack but I have another good trim piece that goes with car (see pic)
1 inch crease on hood
Numerous nics and paint imperfections
Passenger window stays up
A/c is not blowing cold
Check engine is because after engine was replaced
A great piece of GM sportscar history. It's just different from other Trans Ams, t's brighter, t stands out, nd you just know there's something different about it. What a great car to show off at a car show or just in your driveway. Anywhere you live you can drive it home.
