Description of 1965 Pontiac GTO

For Sale is my 1965 GTO with PHS documentation and original window sticker. This car was purchased in 1978 by my dear friend Brad Heaps and was his pride and joy for all of those years. He diedsuddenly 5 years ago and I was asked to purchase it from his estate. I was able to finish the restorationby doing all of the cosmetic work required to bring it back to the way it was when it was new. Brad stored it inside his garage andwas able to slowly restore it mechanically as he was a professional mechanic. He had just replaced the driver's floor and trunk pan when he died in an industrial accident.As I have a 65 GTO, nd know these cars very well, e always would keep me up to date on the work he had finished. For many years he and his mother owned a local auto repair facility, nd he was alwaysworking on his pride and joy whenever time would allow. He never married and his sweet mother, ois asked that I finish what he was never able to do, nd the photos show the completed project.

The car was purchased from Harmon Motor Company. It is still an activeCadillac dealership in Provo Utah. They sold Pontiac's until GM cancelled the brand. The car never traveled far from home, s Brad lived in Salt Lake County. It has been restored as original including the following options as shown on the window sticker;

GTO Option

4 Speed transmission

Redline tires

Factory hubcaps

Reverb & radio (not working currently)

Wood Steering Wheel

Console

Back up lamps

Windshield Wipers with 2 speed washers

And the RARE 2 tone paint option

I have done the following to the car

New interior including headliner

Fresh shiny paint in the original 2 tone combination

New Redline tires

New front and rear bumpers

New Griffin radiator

New Windshield

Countless hours of parts gathering and restoration details such as weather stripping hoses brakes etc, tc, tc!

Since this car was owned for over 30 years by the same owner, here is a huge amount of originality found in the car. Little things like the hubcaps, eadlight trim rings, aillights and rear trim panel are all in very presentable condition. The ultra rare two tone roof trim is perfect. This is the same trim found on the vinyl top equipped cars and is in high demand. The wheel opening moldings are also original and 3 of the 4 are very nice. The passenger front wheel opening trim has a good dent in it.

The interior was originally dark blue, ut during the restoration, added parchment door panels, eats and headliner. This has complimented the two tone exterior perfectly. Pontiac should have offered a parchment and blue interior from the factory! I get constant compliments on the color combination.

The drivers floorboard had pinholes in it and so was replaced. The trunk floor was replaced with an original floor, nd so looks beautiful with all of the proper marks and indentations. Both lower rear quarters were also professionally replaced. The original owner used the car for his daily transportation for it's first 15 years of life, ndNorthern Utahuses salt during the significant winter season. Brad's loving care prevented the rust from being more extensive. I have owned many 65 GTO's over the years and it is a good solid car. Brad just wanted to make sure that it would last for a long time. He was only 48 when he died. He did everything knowing he was going to enjoy it forever. His forever got cut short. EvenCalifornia cars have rustas shown in various Overhaulin episodes, nd this car is now rustfree.I will attach undercarriage photos for your reassurance.

I want you to be happy when you buy this car. I will not overstate the condition of this car. Please check my feedback as a seller on ebay. I have sold 3 or 4 cars over the years and everyone had been thrilled with their purchase. I want you to be thrilled as well, nd if you are not thrilled, want to do everything I can to make you happy. With that in mind, ere are the things you need to know;

1. It has an early 70's Pontiac motor in it. It is an excellent running motor without any internal problems. (YN? by memory) This motor has been in it for many years. Probably longer than the original. I do have a 65 coded 389 out of a Catalina which can be included for an additional $300.

2. It has a 12 bolt rear axle in it with a rear sway bar

3. The reverb and radio are not hooked up. I have no knowledge if it works or not.

4. The paint is not perfect, ut it is very nice and shiny

I have driven the car all over the place and the car is very drivable and dependable.

This car is a very nice car. It is not a perfect car, ut everything that I know that the car needs I have listed. I have sunk a lot of time and money into this car so that the next owner can enjoy a nice dependable automobile. This is not a condition one or even conditiontwo car. My pricing is also not condition one or two either. She has fantastic curb appeal because she looks so pretty in these colors.

If you are looking for a car that has been sorted out except for a couple of things, s listed above, his car is for you.

I am selling for one main reason. I need money. I have had a sudden change in my employment situation and at my age (66)would find it difficult to get another good paying job.

Literally, y loss could be your gain.

The car is sold where is and as is. I can assist in shipping, nd for a fee, ould be talked into delivery within 500 miles. ( I have plenty of time and a car trailer). Delivery is at your expense. I welcome inquiries and can send additional photos of any area of interest or concern.

Storage could be arranged for a short time. More than 30 days storage can be arranged, ut it will have to be at a commercial storage facility, nd I can assist.
