Description of 1973 Pontiac Firebird

Up for auction is my 1973 Pontiac Firebird. A previous owner did the conversion to make it look like a Trans Am. and did a thorough job. The engine (Y4 400 - do not believe it is matching numbers) has also been rebuilt. and from the little I know about it. nbsp;rebuilt strong. I have not popped the valve covers. but you can see the roller rockers through the oil fill. and it will lay down two long black strips with ease. So the posi is good too. The car was basically a barn find by the previous owner. He had it a week before I bought it. and got it running by hooking a wire from the electric fuel pump directly to the battery. My plan was to sort the car out. but the reality is the Poncho is way down on my project list. and I would rather have the cash and the space. So what would I do if I were going to keep the car besides a good cleaning: First is to figure out the fuel delivery issue. as un-switched power to the electric fuel pump is a bad idea. The brakes work fine. but they feel too soft. so I would want to sort through that before I got too crazy. Tires appear decent so I would not put any money there. Once I was comfortable with how the car drove. I would focus on the body. The front fenders are good. but the driver's side quarter is a mess. There are a few rust spots on the roof. and the trunk floor will need to be replaced. Lots of cosmetic stuff to do on the car. but a great basis for an early 2nd gen Trans Am clone. If you are in the north Texas area. I would be happy to show you the car. Clear Texas title in my name. and the car has a Texas Antique plate. good through 2018. The car is for sale locally. nbsp;so the listing may end at any time. Thanks and happy bidding.
