Description of 1969 Pontiac GTO

The facts are these: 1969 Pontiac GTO, atching-numbers 400 cubic inch V8, rame-off restoration, ong options list including factory A/C, ow ownership car that's never left GA, nd in trophy-winning condition. Need more? Good, ecause this GTO gets all the big stuff right and then makes you fall in love with the details. You probably haven't seen another code 65 Antique Gold 1969 GTO before, ut now that you have, ou're probably wondering why everyone makes such a fuss over Carousel Red. The gold is sophisticated, legant, nd more than attention-grabbing... it's impossible to ignore! This is, f course, he car's original color and it was refinished to a standard that's far, ar better than anything the factory could have managed in 1969. Gaps are exacting, he bodywork has been smoothed and sanded so that the reflections are crisp and sharp, nd even the front bumper that surrounds the grilles fits better than new. The two-stage urethane finish is miles deep and if we had to pick nits, ell, e'd be hard-pressed to find anything beyond a nick or two that are all but invisible. The tan vinyl top is a very unusual option with the gold paint and it actually looks fantastic in person. The vinyl is correct GM stuff, o it has the right grain, nd of course you know that the metal underneath is in great shape, o issues there. All the chrome and stainless trim was restored or replaced, eaving it in as-new condition throughout. This is a car that truly sparkles in every possible way.The code 252 gold interior is also original to the car, nd by original, don't just mean that it's the original color, ut this is actually the interior that was installed back in 1969. Only the carpets have been replaced, nd the overall presentation is extremely impressive. The seats show virtually zero wear, he door panels are excellent, nd the headliner remains taut, uggesting a car that led a very easy life. The options list includes factory A/C, hich still blows cold using R12 refrigerant, nd a very rare AM/FM radio with a stereo 8-track player down on the center console. The gauges remain in excellent condition with clear lenses and bright markings and even the woodgraining on the console and dash is crisp, lear, nd bright. The trunk is like new, ith spatter paint on the floor, correct mat, nd a bias-ply spare tire that's quite possibly the original piece. Have we mentioned how impressed we are with this car?The 400 cubic inch V8 is the original, umbers-matching powerplant and has been rebuilt and detailed for show. From the chrome air cleaner with dual snorkels, o the metallic turquoise engine enamel to the white stripe hoses, his engine bay looks the way it did on the showroom floor. It also runs superbly with a nice V8 burble, lenty of torque, nd no fussiness when it's cold. Special care was taken to replicate the original markings on the firewall and reproduction decals were used throughout for a correct look. It's equipped with power steering and brakes, lus a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, o it's easy to drive, nd even the exhaust system has just the right sound. Out back, heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end was part of the GTO package and there's a new gas tank as well. It sits exactly right on beautiful Rally II wheels and appropriate G70-14 redline tires.Having lived all its life in Georgia, his ultra-clean GTO gets everything right.
