This particular 1961 Pontiac Ventura 389 Tri-Power Bubble Top is a complete restoration on a rust free and always garaged Texas car but was completed 5 to 7 years ago. The car received a total engine and transmission overhaul. It received a new master cylinder. wheel cylinders. new brake lines. belts. hoses and cables. It is powered by the 318 Hp (Tri-Power) 389 engine with correct auto transmission and Safe-T-track rear end. With less than 300 miles since its restoration. the car looks extremely impressive in it's original factory 'Fernando Beige' color paint and the original 'Fawn' interior is in absolutely exceptional and completely original condition! The majority of the chrome work is also in very good condition and the original spare wheel and jack is in the trunk. This particular car drives absolutely magnificently. She drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles. shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable driver! The Ventura hardtop of 1961 cost the same as the 1960 model but weighed 180lbs less. The new and shorter wheelbase by 4 inches 1961 Pontiac with the lighter bodies and stronger engines made Pontiac drag racers hard to beat on the street or strip and Pontiac won 21 of 52 NASCAR Grand National stock-car races this year. The 1961 Pontiac Ventura 389 with the standard 389 cubic inch OHV V8 and three two-barrels was capable of zero to 60 mph in 8. 2 seconds and 115. 5 in the quarter mile This is your opportunity to own a pristine example of a very rare. unique. and historically significant GM designed car of the early sixties. What does the car need? As you’ll see from the pics at the link below the only thing the car needs is a little cleaning up of the trim around the wipers. antenna. and the trim around the windows. The trunk has very minor hints of rust spots appearing but these are just surface and can be easily treated to prevent spreading. The only other area worth mentioning is the top of the front grills at the transition from the flat surface to the radius of the headlight. (only visible with the hood up) The paint in these areas on both sides appears to be bubbling. They could be left as is or removed and re-painted if you want them perfect. Car was restored and sold to a collector car dealer in Monterey CA. The current owner purchased from that dealer. Sorry for the historical error. The current owner has about 40 cars so the origin of this one was confused with one or more other cars. 2. Exterior Color is actually 'Bamboo Cream' ('M' Code) Not 'Fernando Beige'.
