Description of 1951 Pontiac Chieftan Wagon

This is a mostly complete 1951 Pontiac Streamliner 8 "Tin" Woody Wagon in need of restoration. We purchased this solid Texas car with the intent to restore it but have too many cars in the queue so it is for sale. The car is equipped with Hydramatic, factory turn signals, a rare GM windshield visor, light up hood ornament, and the original dealer installed "Guide" traffic light viewer.

The body is overall in good condition with only minor dings/dents and minor surface rust. The original flathead inline 8 cylinder is complete including the original air cleaner and will need to be rebuilt. The car also has 4 correct original full wheel hub caps. The spare tire well in the trunk is solid and not rusted out. It will need a complete interior kit, but the front and rear seats are intact. We have a set of original fender skirts and a good used lift gate that will also go with the car.

We purchased the car knowing the NADA book value for a restored #2 ’51 Pontiac 8 wagon is over $69000, so this solid Texas car is very worthy of restoration.

QUICK NOTE: I have the front door panel upper wooden sections that hold the door panel in place on the door. They will make great templates for reproductions if you wish to restore the car.
