Description of 1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE

FOR SALE:

1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition

This car represents the immensely popular "Bandit" car driven by Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit.

This car is a matching-numbers survivor and a true "barn find." The car wears nearly every piece of original equipment.

Furthermore, the car runs and drives very well!

The car is powered by the original 6.6L, Oldsmobile 403 cubic-inch V8 that is paired to the original, automatic transmission.

Additionally, the car retains the original air conditioning, power steering, and power braking systems. All of these systems, including the air conditioning, function as they should. The heater also works as it should.

The car has 95,000 actual and original miles. Along with the odometer, the speedometer, the tachometer, and the remaining auxiliary gauges are in working order.

The car wears a Starlight Black finish that is adorned with the appropriate gold decals and stripes. The car has been subjected to one professional repaint years ago.

The interior of the car features its original equipment with Camel upholstery and panels. The original stereo head unit was replaced with an updated Sony head unit at some point. For an unknown reason, the passenger side door cannot be opened from the outside or the inside. I assume that the issue is internal as both door handles are present and can be operated.

This is an original t-top car and the original t-tops remain in place.

The car rolls smoothly on the original, 15-inch "snowflake" wheels that are wrapped in BRAND NEW BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. These tires are nearly identical to the original equipment.

The trunk of the car is very solid and remains home to the original jack and its accessories.

This car exists as a very solid foundation for a high-quality restoration; both the body and the undercarriage are solid, including the floor pans. This is simply not a rusty car.

The car remains accompanied by numerous pieces of the original literature that accompanied the car at new.

The car's cowl tag reads as follows:

1st line: 79 05B 2FS87 N 204120

2nd line: 62B 19L 19U L

3rd line: A51 CC1 A31 Y84

4th line: TAN 870954

The car carries a clean and clear title that is ready for transfer.

Interested parties are welcomed to have the car inspected but all inspections must be completed before the end of the auction. If you have questions or uncertainties about the car or the purchase process, please contact me with those questions or uncertainties before bidding. I can be reached with a call or a text at (270) 748-1882. If I do not answer, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

The car is located in Henderson, Kentucky, ZIP code: 42420. Henderson, Kentucky is conveniently located approximately 2 hours north of Nashville, Tennessee, 3 hours south of Indianapolis, Indiana, 3 hours east of St. Louis, Missouri, and 2 hours west of Louisville, Kentucky.

The car nor the title will leave my possession until the full purchase price amount has been received in a certified payment form. I prefer cash or a wire-transfer but I will accept a cashier's check if you do not have access to the previous payment forms. A cashier's check is subject to a 7-day clearance period (my bank's policy, not mine). If you choose to ship the car, I will accommodate any shipping arrangements that you may make, but the purchaser will remain financially responsible for the entire shipping process.

*IF YOU BID ON THE CAR, NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF YOUR BID, PLEASE PLAN TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION IN THE EVENT THAT YOUR BID IS THE WINNING BID. A NON-REFUNDABLE $500.00 DEPOSIT MUST BE RECEIVED BY ME WITHIN 1 DAY (24 HOURS) OF THE AUCTION END UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE CAR WITHIN THIS TIME FRAME. THE FULL PURCHASE AMOUNT MUST BE RECEIVED BY ME WITHIN 4 DAYS (96 HOURS) OF THE AUCTION END. MY RECENT EXPERIENCES WITH NON-PAYING BIDDERS FORCES ME TO INTEGRATE THIS REQUIREMENT INTO MY LISTING.

THIS LISTING CARRIES NO RESERVE THAT INVITES SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!

Again, I can be reached with a call or a text at (270) 748-1882. If I do not answer, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

I greatly appreciate your interest and I look forward to hearing from you!
