Description of 1974 Pontiac GTO Chrome |
General Overview The 1974 GTO marked the end of an era (until 2004 when the brand would emerge once again). Now, it was an option of the lighter, smaller Ventura. Power was once again decreased because of a smaller engine, but performed similarly to the '73. New for the year was a functional Shaker hood allowing cold air to enter during full-throttle. The 1974 GTO was among the rarest ever produced, mainly because of increasing oil and insurance prices, as well as differing societal attitudes towards muscle cars. Cars Magazine pitted the '74 against the '64 GTO and they performed almost identically, running the quarter-mile in 15.72 seconds, and 15.64, respectively. The GTO's era truly ran full-circle. Black Leather Interior Honduras Maroon Exterior Rare Car VIN GTO, not a Ventura with a GTO grill. New: Push Rods, Valve Covers, Headliner, Power Doors and Windows, Original Leather, Air Cleaner, Gaskets, Horn, and Wiring Kit included.
