Description of 1985 Pontiac Other BASE |
What we have for sale is a 1985 Pontiac 1000 base model, or the Pontiac version of the Chevy Chevette. It has the 1.6L, 4 cylinder gas L4 engine with a Rochester 2bbl carburetor. A Turbo-Hydramatic 180 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The odometer is reading 93,500 miles.
The NOT AS GOOD:The bottoms of all 4 doors are quite rusty and will need TLC. Of course, the whole body will have to be repainted (or some people like the patina). Gaskets like the oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets will need to be changed. The valve cover leak drips oil onto the header pipe and does smoke a little. It leaks oil all over itself, but not on the ground that I'm aware of. There is an exhaust leak just before the muffler that will need to be sealed up too. The windshield has a small nick (the size of your pinky fingernail in width) that is outside of the wiping area by the blades. Horn works but is currently disconnected, as it inadvertently goes off when turning the steering wheel. Passengers side door trim is MIA. I apologize if I forgot to mention something. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have before bidding on this vehicle. The buyer is responsible for pickup, I cannot deliver. Cash in person is due upon approval of the sale. No warranty will be expressed/implied after Buyer purchases said vehicle. Bill of Sale will be presented upon final sale transaction. Bid high and bid responsibly. Happy bidding.
