Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this 1979 Factory Y84 Special Edition 4 Speed Trans AM which still retains its original numbers matching engine and transmission with low "Actual" miles of 65,304. This PHS documented Y84 Trans Am is very rare being only 1 of 213 ever built in its original configuration with a 301 Pontiac Engine and 4 Speed manual transmission. The included build sheets also authenticate this special TA as being 1 of 213 produced. This special TA features a beautiful repaint in factory Starlight Black with all new decals and pin stripping, an original fantastic deluxe Camel cloth interior, the original factory drive line, and the factory build sheet, window sticker, and PHS documentation. This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps. There is no bubbling or cracked paint anywhere on the body. The underside is original and not covered up with cheap spray paint. There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, rockers, trunk, or tail panel. This Trans Am is finished in the most beautiful and most desirable color combinations of Starlight Black (code 19) over Camel Deluxe (code 63B) cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured below and included PHS documents/Build Sheet. These special low production SE 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability.

Exterior

The Starlight Black exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in factory Starlight Black with all new decals and pin stripping. The paint is in great condition with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. There is no bubbling paint or any signs of rust on the body and the metal is all original sheet metal with no signs or rust repairs. The underside is honest and rust free and not covered up with undercoating or cheap spray paint. New front bumper grills were added and a new nose emblem. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires are like new with full tread left and are sized 255/60/15 and the 8" snowflake wheels are brand new and in like new condition and come with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition. Door seals, t top seals, trunk seal, and shaker seal are in great shape. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a the original correct felt trunk mat and the original t top storage bags.

Interior

The Camel deluxe cloth interior of this Trans Am is original and in excellent overall condition. The original seat covers are like new with no noticeable wear, no rips, no seam splits, or fading. These are not replacements but factory original hobnail/lombardy cloth covers. These are some of the best original cloth seat covers I have ever seen in a Trans Am from this era. The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in superb condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading. The dash bezel is correct and was just restored by Randy Combs and looks beautiful in the car. The cost alone for that service is $250.00. The stereo was just upgraded to a modern mp3/USB unit with brand new 6x9 speakers and is located in the map pocket and easily removed. New separate wiring was used to power the new stereo. No factory wiring was cut or altered in any way. The original stereo has never been removed and the factory wiring is still in tact and the 8 track tape player still works. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are both originals and in excellent shape. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock and cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds works. The warning buzzers and lights all work and so does the blinker indicator lights. Everything works on this car including the reverse lights. Reverse lock out linkage is still in place from the factory. Having everything work on this car is truly unique and hard to come by. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition with low miles of 65,304. Most importantly the original engine and original transmission are still in the car with matching numbers. I have driven this car for 6 months and over 600 miles and frankly its one of the best F body cars I have ever driven, and I have owned hundreds of them. It does everything the way its intended to per factory design. I have full confidence in the car and its a true pleasure to drive. I just went on a 150 mile road trip last week and it performed flawlessly. New flowmaster style dual exhaust was just installed and gives this TA and true muscle car sound at idle and cruising speeds. The original style exhaust with factory catalytic converter was recently removed and can be seen in some of the undercarriage photos. I kept the converter and its available if wanted. The emergency brake works as it should and holds the car well. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is unlike any classic car I have driven. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were recently serviced. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The spark plug wires are original and most of the lines and vacuum hoses are too. There is a lot of originality under the hood and throughout the car. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and looks like old school muscle engine bays.
