Description of 1971 Pontiac GTO

Very rare, original 71 GTO, 455 HO, 4-speed, non- ram air, project car. One of 476 produced for the 1971 model year. Great color combination, Lucern blue, black interior and cordova top with the great looking and very rare D98 eyebrow stripes. No power robbing options. It came with no power steering, power brakes or A/C. PHS documented. Original engine and transmission are long gone. I have most of the hard to find parts for the car, including an original, standard bore (needs one sleeve) WC block, 197 heads, correct intake with crossover and reproduction heat shield and elbow, used exhaust manifolds, a very rare and expensive 7041267 carburetor, a correct distributor, an original Pontiac Muncie M-22 and shifter, dash tach, 8-track player, console, wheel opening moldings, front and rear window moldings, and more. If the buyer prefers, I also have an SR 455 HO block that could be substituted for the WC block.
The car has new NOS quarter panels installed. They need some minor finish work but are fitted nicely with good body lines. The right fender is also NOS but was not stored well and will need to have some work done to remove some surface rust. The left fender is a solid original. The original dash is not cracked. The floors are mostly solid with a few minor rust-through spots that I would patch rather than replace. The trunk floor is bad but not in the wheel arch areas, just in thr more easily replaced center portion (replacement, 3-piece trunk floor included). The hood is above average for a 71-72 GTO hood. The window channel is solid. The front window channel appears to be solid also but the windshield is still installed. The correct drive shaft is included. The rear axle appears to be the correct original 12 bolt posi 3.55. The car currently has 14x7 rally wheels but I can exchange them for correct “KU“coded14x6 wheels with incorrect dates. I can provide pictures of the included parts to serious bidders.
I have tried to accurately describe the car. If you have any questions, please message me before the auction ends. Car sold As-Is. All sales final. Buyer responsible for shipping. I will be happy to help as much as I can. $1,000 deposit due within 24 hours, balance due within 7 days unless prior arrangements made.
