Description of 1978 Pontiac Trans Am Trans Am

NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!

For auction is a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. I was fixing this for myself and have done a lot of work on this, but because of health reasons, I am unable to finish it.It's a daily driver with a rebuilt motor and transmission. This originally had a manual transmission, and I was going to switch it back.It has a WA manual transmission Big Block 400, turbo 350 automatic transmission (shifts very well), positraction rear end, Mallory ignition. Has a rebuilt starter & Rochester 800 cmf carburetor, refurbished fuel & brake systems, replaced front nose, replaced theslapstick shifter. I added many new parts: all belts, hoses, & vacuum lines, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, all new subframe bushings, reproduction shifter console plate, shifter knob, reproduction rear view mirror, most all knobs & screws throughout interior where needed, windshield trim, battery & hold down & cables, windshield washer reservoir, rebuilt intermittent windshield washer motor and pump, parking brake pedalpad & trim. Good interior.

The windshield has a crack in it. The car needs some exhaust work and a floorboard repair, as it has rust in typical places (the trunk and front floor pan). It has some oil leaks, as usual, and needs some body work andpaint, but it runs great and is fun to drive (LOUD). It is a WA big block engine, built specifically for manual transmission applications,and it is TOUGH!

Also included are parts not yet installed: a T top,and new rubber bushings, pads, and all new hardware for the rear end, front coil springs from Ames Performance, and various other parts.
