| 1981 ORIGINAL PONTIAC FIREBIRD TURBO TRANS AM NASCAR DAYTONA 500 OFFICAL PACE CAR RECARO T/A INTERIOR I am the second owner of this mint condition all original special edition Trans Am. Please look carefully to see that this is not a restored vehicle it is original with all the options just the way it came from Pontiac. The interior is in brand new show room condition. The Exterior is 97% condition. Remember to consider this vehicle is 34 years old. I have included some information and history on this limited special edition vehicle below. In 1981 Pontiac was selected to lead the Daytona 500 and as the Official Safety Car for NASCAR. This Special Edition Trans Am led the way at the 23rd running Daytona 500 in 1981. The race was won by Richard Petty. his 7th and last Daytona 500 win. In likeness. the 1981 Trans Am marked the end of the 2nd Generation Fbody and the short 2 year run of the turbo charged Pontiac 301 engine. This Trans Am Pace Car is powered by the Pontiac turbo charged 4. 9 Liter 301 Cubic Inches engine and is the first Trans Am to enbody Recaro seating. Exactly 2000 Trans Am Pace Cars designating the Y85 Turbo Special Edition Package were built in 1981. Turbo Special Eition Y85 package includes red carpeting. embroidered bird on door panels and rear seat. red instrument lighting. digital display (ETR) radio. The exterior has two-tone paint. white lower and black roof T-top section with specific stripes. Specific NASCAR decals on front fenders. Recaro T/A door handle inserts and hood mounted 3-stage turbo boost indicator panel. Pontiac 4. 9-Liter Turbo Charged V8 engine. mandatory Good Year Polysteel Radial raised white letter tires. 15X7. 5 turbo cast aluminum wheels and limited slip axle.
