Description of 1983 Pontiac Bonneville Station wagon

1983 Pontiac Bonneville wagon. Same body as the Chevy Malibu wagon but with lots more power options. Factory 5.0L 305 CI 4 bbl Chevy V8 with a THM200 3 speed automatic transmission.

Car has not been registered since 2004. Car has fresh oil and tank was drained but no junk found in the tank, so fresh fuel added. Still smells a little old so it'll take a couple tanks to clear it out.

Engine runs strong and carb works well - starts up with a few pumps of the accelerator and idles right. Transmission shifts well and fluid is clean. I have a video of the car running and driving in a dead stop full throttle takeoff, and it does so beautifully, but I'm not sure how to send to you through eBay. If you know how I can send it to you, let me know.

Car has working power windows, power locks, power driver's seat. A/C works and kicks on and lines are cold under the hood, but blows warmish air out the floors not the vents. Odometer and speedometer do not work. In 2002 on the history report, you can see that it was working by the emission inspection mileages around 112k, and was last driven in 2004, so mileage is not likely much more. The cruise control box has been bypassed - speedometer cable goes right to cluster rather than through the cruise box, so that may be the issue.
Though there's some peeled paint inside the left rear door bottom, there is no other rust. Car is a lifelong southern car and has no undercarriage rust or rear frame rail rust that plague other G body cars from up north. Though there is no accident on the history report, the right rear quarter panel shows evidence of body repair.

Body is very straight. There are a couple small dents around the left front wheel opening that appear to be caused by a blowout.

Brakes work well. Suspension feels good driving but shocks do show some leaks. Power steering works well and steering is reasonably tight. Tires have tread but appear very old.

Interior shows age but no notable wear. Nice inside. Headliner not sagging, seat fabric not torn, dash not cracked. Yes, needs detailing, but all there.

Paint is decent but it's a total repaint including jambs. Car was originally black (I know - I wish is was still black, too).
Though it starts, runs, drives, and stops well, and doesn't have any visible leaks, but it hasn't been on the road in 16 years, and I'd advise trailering home. Please be reasonably aware of stuff that can go wrong with old cars.

Look closely at pics. Except for washing off 15 years of barn dust, and blowing out some dust, I've done nothing else to shine it up and make it look nicer than it is. What you see is what you'll get. Inspections are encouraged - come check out or send someone if you can.
No reserve. I'd set a price, but can't find any recent sales at all, so whatever it brings will be the price.
