1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible 50k Orig. Miles 400 c.i. Auto Very Original Ex. Con

Here is a rare opportunity to own a true survivor from the muscle car era with only 50,000 original miles. This 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible, powered by the legendary 400 c.i. 335 h.p. V-8 and backed by a 400 turbo 3-speed automatic transmission is all numbers matching, fully documented, and verified by the Pontiac Historical Society (PHS). This car also comes with the rare Hurst dual gate shfter. A binder including the history, PHS documents, the original window sticker, receipts, registration cards, warranty book, and more are included with the sale.

The original owner ordered the car in July 1966 and took delivery of it in December ’66 from the Swanson Pontiac dealership located in North Platte, Nebraska. Options included power steering and power brakes. Shortly thereafter he was relocated to Loveland, Colorado where the GTO stayed until the owner decided to sell it in 2012 to its second owner who then passed away in 2019 and when the present owner purchased the car.

According to the history of the car all the body panels, floors, hood, doors, inner and outer fender panels are original and there appears to be no bodywork. The first owner had two tops put on the car, one in 1980 and another in ’86, and it works perfectly. The GTO has had the exterior painted once which was in 1993. You will see some touch ups but, no rust or bubbling (see photos).

During the GTO’s second ownership:

The 400 c.i. engine was inspected and “freshened up” by Automotive Past Times in Loveland, CO. Additionally, a thermostatically controlled electric fan with shroud, after market valve covers, and an Accel electronic ignition were added.

The interior is believed to be original, including the cracked dash, except for some small chrome trim and courtesy light lenses. All of the gauges and dash lights function normally. An after-market radio and under dash gauges were added too.

With regards to the body only the taillight assemblies and hood ornament were replaced. The remainder of the chrome is believed original.

The only other notable addition is the complete exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
