Description of 1979 Porsche 930 911 Turbo Coupe

No. 762 of 1200 US destination 1979 911 Turbos before the US blackout. Three PCA enthusiast owners. No modifications. Extremely well preserved original condition. With only 36K miles there are mostly oil changes and light service records. Paint is in great condition. Mechanically in excellent condition. Recent inspection and service completed. The 1979 Porsche 911 Turbobegan with a 2-mm wider bore that upped displacement to 3,299cc (201.3 cid). No less important was adoption of an air-to-air intercooler for squeezing a denser charge into every intake stroke, thus extracting more energy from every power stroke. The intercooler pushed the A/C condenser to the right side of the whale-tail's air intake -- the main reason for enlarging the distinctive appendage. Compression was higher, if still mild at 7.0:1, and combined with the intercooler and extra cc's for 300 DIN horsepower European at 5,500 rpm (253 SAE net) and 303 pound-feet of torque (282 SAE) at 4,000 rpm.1979 Porsche Turbo went into exile for five long years. Itwas withdrawn from the States as a public-relations response to the second energy crunch that began in early 1979. This is one of the last examples of the pre-blackout of the early 911 Turbos. This is a great driving, well preserved, overall excellent condition 911 Turbo that will make a great addition to any enthusiast's collection.
