this is a beautiful example of a 964, i've owned the car for the past 2 years, i was preparing to sell the car after enjoying it for the summer when i sent in in for a top end (in car) reseal, upon opening the top end my mechanic (jason eastman of Bullfrog Automotive who apprenticed under Barry Washburn) he came to the conclusion that the motor was in desperate need of a rebuild, i gave him the green light to go as far as he needs to to make sure the motor is good to go for the rest of its life even though i was not planning on owning it much longer. What we ended up with was a unit that was 100% refreshed, oil tight, and better than it came from the factory. ALL of the dreaded motor problems early cars were plagued with along with several RS upgrades.while the motor was being rebuilt i sent the car to have a full glass out restoration done by Autobahn bodyworks in Burlington vt, they used Spies and Hecker products and the car also receivedFeynlab ceramicoating along with 3 stage "paint correction" 10 months after its respray. The car drives like a dream, its bold and loud. "Raw" is the first word that comes to mind when you drive it, the throttle revs quick and the compression can be felt in the exhaust note (catalyticconverter is in place muffler is deleted), the revs fall quickly and lope like a v8 as they bounce back to idle, it accelerates smooth and corners like a dream brakes have slotted rotors with semi metallic pads work as they should with no vibration, suspension is very sport oriented, smooth ride, lowered but not extreme or obnoxious. Wheels being Cup 1s with pirelli tires leave the car looking OEM+ and classy and perform just as well as they look(255/35/17 and 225/40/17) interior is performance oriented, everything works as it should and Rennline upgrades are clean and sleek, also easily reversible as i have all the OEM parts that they replaced, RS door cards and pulls clean up the interior and make a little more space in the passenger compartment, the track mats make for easy clean up while the lower dash delete make the bulky ugly lower dash and knee bolster disappear. Rs tach and rennline make the guages a pleasure to look at, the glass is clear and they all work. Bluetooth radio works, its hardly ever on because the sounds this car makes never get old. Climate control unit was recently replaced with a updated software 993 controller AC system was recently replaced and has yet to be recharged. 1990 Carrera 964 blk/blk up for sale, 132k, just finished a top to bottom refresh:Motor out full rebuild headgasket update, all bearings (main, rod, Ims) and wear parts inside and out (clutch, starter, valve job, timing chains,sprockets and guides, oil lines,new AC compressor, resurfaced Camshafts, awd system serviced exhaust muffler delete) reflashed ECU first valve adjustment, first two oil changes ($18,250+ receipts provided) Completely refreshed suspension including new bilsteins h&r springs all new axle boots and repacked axle bearings, refinished calipers, rotors and brake pads. ($2600) New paint including all new seals, tail lights gaskets and emblems, new windshield ($10k receipt provided) Rennline upgrades and other mods: rs door panels, strut bar, valve covers, singer style engine carrier, track mats fully adjustable pedal set trim rings, rebuilt Guages, door sills, shift knob and ebrake handle, lower dash delete,roll bar, Bluetooth radio, graphics ($5800) I have all previous owner information including receipts dating back to new, original window sticker, manuals, and almost every stock part that came off it, clean carfax and no body damage /rust.
