The Cabriolet is built much stronger so that body flex is eliminated. A 1969 roof was welded onto the car. Without a sunroof. over one hundred pounds was saved. It is estimated that over two hundred pounds was saved by this build. A steel long hood was fitted by TRE in Los Angeles. a very well respected Porsche build facility. They installed the proper Ducktail and the proper mirrors and refinished the car to a very high standard. The interior has been lightened by eliminating the back seats and covering everything in Alcantara. It has the G50 transmission with a short shift and a 917 knob. The exhaust is a custom built stainless steel unit utilizing the excellent 993 headers into an X pipe. The engine was rebuilt at the time of the build. The leak down report is available. It passed with flying colors. The car has Bilsteins and slotted rotors. and the brake pads are like new. 7 and 9 inch custom RSR Fuchs wheels have new Bridgestone Potenza RE 11 tires in sizes 205/55R16 and 245/45R16. The car has been aligned and corner balanced. It has not been tracked. The car makes for a perfect daily driver as it still has air conditioning and heat. The color is Ossi Blue. an original 1971-73 color. There is no rust as an '88 has a galvanized chassis.
