Description for Porsche 928 1988

This is a remarkably original Porsche 928 S4 with the ultrarare 5 speed. Few cars exist that are this original, and with only 54K originalmiles, this might be one of the rarest 928s in the country. Original meansoriginal, and this car has no modifications that I am aware of. However, as canbe expected of a 32 year old car, there are some blemishes here and there.

The Good:

  • Comes with everything the car shipped with, including spare tire (not shown in pictures), tools, lug wrench, safetyreflector and spare belts.
  • Is a 5 speed car (automatics are a dime a dozen)
  • Interior still smells like a new car
  • Has rear air conditioning
  • 2 sets of wheels – the ones shown in the picture(not original to the car), and the original set
  • New tires with tons of tread life
  • Original Blaupunkt Reno
  • This was a European delivery car, meaning theowner was a US citizen who bought it here but took delivery of the car at thefactory. Extensive paperwork on this super cool history.
  • Intake completely rebuilt. Fresh powder coatingon intake and valve covers. New injectors. All metal parts cad plated.
  • Basically everything in the car works, which isremarkable for a car of this age.
  • All speakers recently replaced with original OEMspeakers.
  • All books and manuals.
  • Clutch replaced in 2014
  • Timing belt replaced in 2015

The Bad:

  • The air conditioning blows hot. This is due to acoolant control valve on the passenger side head that needs to be replaced ($50item, easy repair).
  • The paint is less than perfect. It passes the 10foot test….actually the 5 foot test, but there is evidence of dull paint, a fewlittle dings, and light impact damage on the nose of the car. Additionally, Isee where at one point, the passenger side received a bad touch up, potentiallyfor a key mark that runs from the back of the car to the front quarter.Passenger door jamb also has evidence of some sort of object that was caught inthe door and dented the panel slightly.
  • Sunroof has an issue closing at times, probablyneeds a new sunroof motor.
  • Some dash cracking

Overall:

This car is an absolute time machine and startlinglyoriginal. 928s are very hard to find 1) in an untouched, unmodified state and2) in 5 speed. This checks both of those boxes. Inspections welcome. Lots more pictures available. If you want to see something I haven't photographed just ask.
