Description of 1963 Porsche 356 B

1963 356B T6 body 1600S

Please read this description fully before bidding. This is not a numbers matching car. I was building this as a personal car. There were 2 Rutter 356B T6 cars involved in the restoration . This is not a number matching car.

My health and the health of my wife has greatly affected my schedule.

Trans Axel: The transaxle was professionally rebuilt by Vic Skirmants of 356 Enterprises. The unit was completely rebuilt with the correct high speed ration 741/OA but the case number is off by a few digits.

Brakes: Vic also inspected the brake drums and cut the drums and arced the shoes to match. New wheel cylinders were installed. A new brake master was also installed but I have not added brake fluid yet.

Body: I found a near perfect engine lid and hood because the originals were rusty. The rockers were replaced as well as all the floorboards. All the gaps look nice.

Paint: The Correct Heron Gray was used as a single stage paint to have an original look. The switches are still attached to the harness, but the gauges were pulled from the dash so that the dash could be painted.

Engine: The engine with the car I believe to be a 1600S and I have heard this engine run and it did not smoke. The 3rd piece with the engine number is correct but does not match the car block from the other 1963 356B. I have a rebuilt set of correct 1600S heads and planned to install heads with a fresh valve job. I am missing one piece of sheet metal.

Carbs: I have the correct carbs and manifolds, but they need to be rebuilt.

Trim: Most of the chrome is new including the engine covers. I also have new chrome door handles. I have other new trim and logos which are not installed:

Interior: I have 2 sets of seats and will provide you with the best ones, but they will need to be recovered.

Top/ Rack: I have the original rack which needs some minor rust repair on one of the rear hoops. I have a very nice front wooden bow and the original bow latches. I have a top which is like new but was cut to fit another car. I have not tried the top but planned to add material if it was cut a little short.

Terms: I would like a $ 2500 deposit by check or money order within 3 days of the auction end. Please allow me 2 weeks to collect and properly pack all the parts. Once the car is ready for delivery I would like the balance. I can store the car for 90 days at no charge or I can deliver it to the port of Houston for $750. I have a title in my name. Please be aware this is not a matching number car but it will look nice when assembled.

I reserve the right to sell the car locally and end the auction early.
