Description of 1985 Porsche 944

I purchased this 944 from Steve Knepper of the Portland Knepper collection, who I have known from the Porsche club since about 1999. He remembered this car driving into his neighbor's garage when he was in high school and always dreamed of owning the car. Finally, in around 2010 he was able to purchase the car from his neighbor. In 2015, he decided to thin out his collection to pursue club racing. Desiring the 944 to continue being well-loved, I bought this Porsche and drove her straight to my parent's garage where it has resided since...literally adding only 50 miles from Portland to Mount Angel, Oregon. Odometer is 107,061 original, documented miles.
Full history file. Less than 1k miles ago, new timing belt & tensioner, balancer belt & tensioner (belts retensioned after break-in), all front engine oils seals / gaskets, water pump, thermostat, complete cooling system flush and new top / bottom radiator hoses. New speed & reference sensors. Four new BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires.
EXTERIOR: Mr. Knepper told me the headlights are special, but don't remember why. The front turn signal and foglight lenses are NOS factory parts. I believe the taillights as well, but not positive. Nose, panel and body gaps factory original & correct. Absolutely ZERO rust. I did no touch-up to paint as not to alter the car's original condition. Paint has some ships here and there, which would respond well to retouch. Light oxidation should come out with professional attention. Minor dings here and there, but most would come out with paintless dent removal. Two small dents (one on either side of Porsche crest at nose). One very small ding on roof and perhaps a few more here and there. With paintless dent removal, retouch and professional cut / buff, the paint should come back to a solid 8 or 9 level. Wheel finish is beautiful. Rubber is excellent, including rear spoiler. Sunroof opens and closes normally.
INTERIOR: Beautiful 'Star Wars' style dash with early Panerai-like, yellow-handed gauges. By far, my favorite 944--or any 80's car in general--interior style. Crack on either side of speaker at windshield. Very fine crack below right of speaker. Small stain on rear luggage carpet. Otherwise, the entirety of the interior is nothing other than gorgeous, showing less than normal aging, due to garage / collection storage. This car has been loved since day one and it shows throughout.
SYSTEMS: When I drove the car from the Knepper collection in Portland to Mount Angel, I remember the cruise working. However, it has not been tested since...this was about a decade ago. Passenger window doesn't go down. Could be something as small as a fuse or poor connection. Zero investigation has been pursued.
MECHANICALS: Perfect. Sounds, runs, drives, performs and brakes like a new 944. Nothing else to mention. I wouldn't hesitate taking this car for a world tour.
I have about 90 photos available...eBay's new and very stingy format prohibits posting. Please email for more. Thank you very much! LOTUSELISE73@HOTMAIL.COM
I have 20+ years Porsche and eBay experience, over $1million in sales and 100% positive feedback. Bid with confidence. A new life in abroad is the absolutely ONLY reason for selling. I love this car, just as it's two previous owners.
