Description of 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II --

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and very collectible example of this 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II sedan. This was the best and last year of the legendary Silver Shadow series and the first year of the highly desirable fuel efficient Bosch Fuel Injection engine and this was one of the very last models built!
The car was originally purchased and serviced by its original owners at the Rolls Royce dealership of Newport Beach, California on 2/23/1981 and owned for many years by the same family until sold to its most recent owner in 2010 and in recent years it has been serviced at the 'British Car Clinic', the renown independent Rolls Royce/Bentley specialists of Santa Monica, CA. Finished in it's simply stunning original two-tone 'Porcelain White over Athenian Blue' color paint with matching Rolls Royce hubcaps and pin stripes and with original matching 'Dark Blue with Magnolia Piping' color Connolly leather hides and matching carpeting. The paintwork is in quite exceptional condition throughout and all the chromework including the Rolls Royce grille is absolutely outstanding and virtually flawless! The interior is also in very fine and exceptional condition (obviously always garaged from the sun and elements) and the mohair headliner is virtually perfect. The original and magnificent burled walnut woodwork is also in very fine condition throughout. All the power options and electric windows are working as they should and this well maintained Rolls Royce engine runs extremely strong. These cars are not slow - the engine purrs like a kitten, never stalls or idles rough and is extremely reliable - there is plenty of power to pull away at the lights and it cruises at high speeds with absolute ease. The transmission shift is almost imperceptibly smooth and the temperature always remains cool.
This particular model drives particularly well and must be driven to be fully appreciated. Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare and very collectible and super striking 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II with only some 52K original miles, obviously always garaged with no accidents and never abused! The car will be sold with its very rare original factory 'Construction and Test Records' folder showing the original import papers from the UK and the car's original order form showing its original specifications and invoice for 26,595 English Pounds, including the specially ordered with 'Non-standard' two-tone paint, 'Top Roll, Instrument Board Roll, Underdash Trim and Radio Surround in Dark Blue, internally adjustable passenger side mirror and Wheel Discs in Porcelain White', original car assembly summarys, final inspection reports, safety checks, engine assembly, final road test, final paint inspection, etc; a rare and simply stunning amount of exclusive and original hand written documentation showing the painstaking effort to produce the world's finest hand built autombile of its day. It was shipped from the Crewe, England in March 1980. The Silver Shadow II is truly a sensual car that you can drive with your fingertips, smooth and relatively silent, it's thoroughly therapeutic for both drivers and passengers. The delightful precision action of the electrically powered steering column gear change and the ultra light weighted power steering allows one to park this 5000lbs of pure luxury with literally one finger and this long but actually quite slender car is anything but ponderous thanks to it's torque and brilliant turning radius! The ride is truly luxurious from a high riding position.
For those who are unfamiliar, Rolls Royce no longer exists as it had for over one hundred years. This is the last in the original line of cars hand built in the legendary Rolls Royce factory in Crewe, England with a quality and craftsmanship that far surpasses that of today's mass produced models with many BMW parts - this is indeed a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history, from a time when Rolls Royce was truly building the world's finest automobiles - a great investment for the Rolls Royce enthusiast or collector or simply an outstandingly striking example of a very rare and unusual Rolls Royce for the discerning luxury classic car owner!
