The Toy Barn of Dublin Presents: 1989 Bentley Turbo R Beautiful color combination With decades of storied history. Bentley Motors is known for hand-crafted automotive luxury and build quality that is unrivaled. The Turbo R made it's way officially onto the automotive market starting in 1988 (1989 model year). and was the first true sports sedan Bentley offered for decades. It's powered by a massive turbo-charged 6. 75L V8 producing nearly 300 horsepower and 490 lb/ft of torque. unheard of in 1989 for a luxury sedan. The Turbo R also had sport tuned suspension including bigger front and rear sway bars. sport tuned shocks. and tires that were about as big as you'd see on a Bentley. or ANY car for that matter at the time. The "classic" Bentley luxury sedan. the Turbo R will forever carry out the distinctive look and feel that Bentley is known for. What most people do not realize. however. is this 2-ton+ luxury flagship could accelerate as fast as any 4-door during this period in automotive history. and topped out just shy of 150 mph. Hand-crafted. reasonably fast. and period-correct luxury feel make the Turbo R a long time British Classic. The Toy Barn is pleased to offer this 1989 Turbo R finished in White over tan leather with only 50k original miles. This example is in very good overall condition. and has had several recent services performed in order to make it road ready and current. totaling nearly $14k in maintenance over this past summer. The suspension. brakes. and several chassis components have all been replaced and completely gone through by Evan's Automotive Repair in Columbus (well-known with decades of exotic car repair experience). including thrust arm bushings. ball joints. control arm bushings. front coil springs. front pads and rotors. PLUS MORE. Several updates were performed under the hood as well. including alternator. radiator. belts. a/c service. oil pressure check. idle control motor. and much more. Receipts are pictured below. and I'm happy to provide any additional information I can. simply give me a call. The White finish shows well. and the exterior is in very good overall condition (see photos below and call for a more detailed description). There is a little bit of rust bubbling on the passenger side windshield pillar. but would be a simple repair. Overall. the body is very clean and the car presents itself very well. The wheels are in very good condition with of the tread life still remaining. Again. I'd be happy to walk the car over the phone for you to tell you exactly what I see and provide a thorough description of this classic exotic. On the inside. the interior is very nice as well. The leather seats and trim show minimal age. and are in very good condition. and the overall interior is complimented with tremendous wood trim throughout. Most of the controls operate properly. however the power seats are inoperable. as well as the power passenger side front window. Also. the oil pressure gauge is not reading properly due to the sending unit. but the oil pressure was checked and is performing as it should (see records below). Out on the road. this Bentley comes to life. The engine pulls strong and runs excellent. and the transmission shifts just as it should. The suspension and steering are tight and the brakes are tight and perform well. This car feels good out on the road. as it should. considering all of the recent work that was performed.
