Description of 1994 Saab 900 Final Year Turbo Convertible 66 Photos No Reserve

JUST IN TIME TO PARK UNDER THE TREE FOR CHRISTMAS!!!   We used to sell a LOT of Saabs here.   Maybe one or two a month.   Now we’re lucky to sell 1-2 a year.   But we got super lucky here!  This auction is for a 1994 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible!  This Turbo Convertible being offered here:   WAS THE FINAL YEAR FOR THIS MODEL IN THE BEST LOOKING COLOR AND TRIM! IS A HANDS DOWN BEAUTIFUL CAR IN BLACK WITH THE SPG RIMS! RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT! WITH A NICE WORKING POWER TOP! AND COMES WITH OUR 100% MONEY BACK WARRANTY!   And. to make this auction interesting. we are offering this rare sport convertible here in a NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!     NO RESERVE means just that.    We pride ourselves in honest auctions and ALWAYS start our bidding at ONE PENNY!  Classic Saab 900 Convertibles in this kind of condition aren’t easy to find and interest an awful lot of people!  This 900 is one of those rare auctions that don’t have an untouchable reserve or stratospheric buy it now price.   Any bid you make might be the last one.   So please be extra serious when bidding.   You bidders are going to set the price in this auction. not us! And. to make this a very safe bet for you. you have 50 miles to drive it.   If you can honestly show it has been misrepresented. we’ll happily refund you your money! Recently we’ve had to start requiring that our bidders have a Paypal account to bid.   We’ve regretfully had to do this because of the sharp increase in deadbeat. non-paying. bidders since eBay has changed their feedback policy.   We still ask that zero feedback bidders and bidders with no recent account activity contact us before bidding.   If you don’t have a Paypal account and wish to bid. please contact us so we can add you to our bidding exemption list. PLEASE take the time to read the whole description and the Terms section after it. 95% of the questions we get on our vehicles can be answered by simply reading the description and studying the pictures we include. We get very worried when we see that bidders aren’t reading things because it makes us wonder what other important details they've missed. VERY few dealers take the time we do to give complete descriptions simply so that our bidders can make educated decisions and not be surprised when they pick up their new cars.   Work with us here and at least read what we’ve written.   META TAG     We used to be eBay’s number one seller of Saab 900’s and might still be for all we know.   The older Saabs are getting very hard to find and we’re lucky to find 1 or 2 a year now.   We’ve been doing this here for many years and have a lot of very happy buyers!  We’re one of the very rare dealers here that sells everything we have in true no reserve auctions.   Our buyers are the ones that set the prices. not us!       We love the older Saab Turbo convertibles.   Like most people. we agree that these ’94 Saab 900’s were the last nice Saabs in the pre-GM era.  In our opinion. they were just about the nicest. classiest looking. sports convertible in the market from the mid-80’s to mid-90’s.   They looked great with the top down.   They were great driving and comfortable to sit in.   And. like most Saab 900’s. they exuded that little extra something that made them just a little bit different from everything else on the market.  Regretfully they were also very expensive when new.   Many older Saabs we’ve sold here over the years are shipped overseas because there were very few of the turbo convertibles sold in Europe new because of the high purchase prices back then.   Dutch and German buyers go crazy for this model Saab. As you have already seen this is one very nice Saab considering it is almost 21 years old! 1994 was the LAST year for this classic body style and the turbo cars were the most desirable ones to have.   The trouble these days is that these cars are VERY hard to find and owners never want to let the nice ones like this go. This Saab is the Holy Grail find for the right buyer! It has been a couple years since we’ve listed one as nice as this. We’re sure we will receive letters from people wishing this car had the five speed transmission versus the automatic.   Our opinion is that. with the convertible. the automatic is a much better gearbox to have because it allows you to slow down a bit and enjoy the world seen from a convertible.   Additionally the automatic transmission is bulletproof.   Most of the manual transmission Saab 900’s we see these days are all ready for replacement due to synchromesh issues between second and third gear.   The automatic tranny is a much safer bet to own as these cars get older!  The last comment we’ll make about the manual trans is that. on the turbo Saab convertibles. the body of the car was prone to twisting in corners under full turbo boost.   Without a hard top roof. turbo convertibles just can’t be considered serious sports cars. Our two cents. One clarification here.   Saab did make a commemorative last year model turbo convertible.   These models were also black with the tan leather and same wheels.   Ebay’s computer defaulted this car into this category automatically based on the VIN #.   HOWEVER!!  The commemorative editions. while identical looking to this car. ONLY came with manual transmissions. So. no matter what anyone tells you. this car is not a special edition because of the automatic transmission.   As long as it looks the same we’re fine with that!     The exterior of this ’94 Saab is as nice as you’re ever going to find unrestored these days.   It is pretty obvious to us that this car lived in a garage.   The black paint looks very nice overall even though it has the standard little nicks and scratches anyone would expect to find on a 22 year old car with 143K miles on it.  The car is rust free free except for a patch we found bubbling along the front half of the right rear fender lip.   The only other damage we found was a small crumpled area on the left rear corner of the hood just in front of the door and below the windshield pillar.   All the trim is there and this is a very RARE Saab in that it still has its driving lamps with intact lenses.   It’s been years since we’ve had a Saab with this accessory intact AND working. Black turbo Saab convertibles with the SPG alloy rims were the sharpest looking ones made and came across as a luxury sport convertible with attitude!  You will NOT see cars like this ever again new.     Being as this is a convertible we have to care about the condition of the top.   The canvas is in nice overall condition and seals perfectly.   We noticed only a few small slits in the usual rear quarters.   The inner headliner is looking great!  The power actuation works smoothly and quickly even when it is very cold outside!  This Saab has been VERY well taken care of in its life! The last photo is an interesting one.   In the trunk of this Saab were THREE complete tonneau covers for the top!  This is a three-piece ABS plastic cover that goes over the top when it is down.   Some people love them. some people never use them and they get lost. Some people think they are a pain to install and then prevent them from raising the top without having to get out of the car.   Well. this Saab had three of them.   This was a HUGE expense for the previous owner.   One set is beige and matches the leather interior.   One is black and matches the exterior color.   The third is dark grey and matches the sky today.   If you live in a warm climate and always have the top down you’ll love having choices!  The tonneau covers are kind of rare to see these days and are very hard to find.     Here is what the car looks like with the top up from a distance! There aren't that many convertibles that look decent when the top is up.  This is one of the few.     We always like to show some closer in pictures of our cars so you can get an idea of just how nice they are.   There is nothing but good to see on this Saab!  The last photo is a close up of the rust bubbling on the front half of the right rear fender lip.   It is an easy fix and this was the only rust we found on the car.     Here you can see how nice the custom Saab alloy rims are and what the tread is like on the tires. The rims look GREAT for their age!  If you look closely you can see the original green valve stem covers that came from the factory.  I've only seen one other Saab with a complete set and that was 8 years ago.     We’re not into hiding anything so here you can see the condition of the underbody and the rockers!     We got to drive this Saab about 100 miles and it was a joy to drive. albeit cold with the top down.   We have no doubts about it being able to make a long trip to get it home and under the tree before Xmas!  We’ll show this beauty off and let it speak to you itself!     Everything about this Classic Saab Turbo makes you want to own it and drive it!  It’s nice to see them in this kind of condition AND also in a NO RESERVE auction!  Here’s your chance to own one!       For a 21 year old non-smoking convertible interior we were smiling!  While far from perfect. the tan leather seats are all in nice shape.   There is very little abnormal wear showing.   The electronic adjustments are working for both seats.   The heated driver’s seat works fine.    Considering convertible leather interiors are exposed to more weather and sunlight we were very pleased.   This is really a beautifully kept interior for its age!     The inner door panels are looking just as great!     The dash area is in the same excellent condition as the rest of the car.   There are no trouble lights showing.   It has the common Saab issue in that the outer plastic trim around the instruments on the left side is peeling away.   The glove box is looking and working well which is rare to see.   The stock Saab stereo is there along with the very expensive (at the time) accessory CD player.   When the stereo is turned on for some reason the security code pops up on the screen and won’t let us enter it.   All the instruments work including the turbo boost gauge and odometer.   The power windows and mirrors are all working.   Even the cruise control works!  We did get one key fob with the car and it works along with the factory alarm system.   This is rare to see 21 years down the road.   With such below average miles on the car it comes off beautifully.   There is no way you’re not going to like this Saab’s interior!      All the original manuals are included!     Look at this SWEET. clean trunk! The mini-spare is under the cover on the left side.   Also here is a photo of the compartment under the trunk that still has the original factory plastic sack to put your flat tire into to keep the dirt off the carpets.   You can also see that the factory Saab tool kit is there and is 90% complete.   These are so rare to see that I just has to include a photo of it!     This is a very nice interior considering it’s age and the mileage on the car!  It is very RARE to find an interior in this kind of condition and it is obvious how well this Saab was cared for!  Convertible interiors always suffer more because of exposure to the weather but not here!       Being that this is a final year 1994 model. under the hood is the B202 160 horsepower 2. 0-liter 16-valve fuel-injected turbo charged engine!  It starts and runs great with no leaking or smoking! This engine is reliable and very inexpensive to maintain!  It gives great torque and is still rated to return excellent fuel economy even by today’s standards!  You can see how clean everything is!   The automatic transmission feels and shifts great under all driving conditions!  While we didn’t receive the service records with this car we can tell you that cars like this don’t survive 22 years looking and driving this nice if they weren’t properly maintained.   High end Turbo Saabs are special cars and owners don’t ignore them.   This is a great driving Saab and we wouldn’t hesitate to drive it cross-country all summer with the top down!     And here is the VIN plate just so everyone can do their due diligence!         If you have EVER been in the market for a beautiful classic Convertible and miss out on this NO RESERVE auction. you MIGHT be tempted to do this!     Because we can pretty much guarantee that whatever this Saab sells for here. you will not find a nicer one anywhere close to the price ever again!  Everyone else is going to be very disappointed because they missed on this extremely clean. jet black. final year Saab 900S Turbo Convertible!    So don’t be like this guy! Run and place your bids Early! And please bid high. bid often. and bid in confidence!
