Description of 1939 Studebaker Pickup Restomod

Outrageous looks are just one part of this awesome 1939 Studebaker pickup's bag of tricks. Show-stopping paint grabs your attention, ut it's just as dramatic from behind the wheel thanks to a blown 355 cubic inch small block. If it's attention you crave and you don't like the run-of-the-mill Chevys and Fords, his spectacular Stude has just what you need.Of course the body is fiberglass, custom creation that loosely replicates the beautiful lines of the 1939 Studebaker but gives them an oh-so-wicked makeover. Finish quality is, s you'd expect, pectacular with glossy black paint that's deep enough to swim in and highlighted by the kind of real flames made famous by Mike Lavallee; the depth and attention to detail is nothing short of amazing. Look closely and you'll also see skulls blended into the flames, hich is a testament to the artist's skills. Panel fit is quite good, he doors fit well, nd the bed is perfectly proportioned to give it a great stance without looking like it was chopped off short. The grille is dramatic and it's absolutely impossible to miss the blower sticking out of the engine bay like that, o it's a good thing that this thing runs as great as it looks. A power-actuated bed cover transforms the cargo bay into a weatherproof trunk and neat details like the frenched taillights and license frame give it a custom look from any angle. The interior is every bit as dramatic, ith custom stitched upholstery on every available surface. The buckets are comfortable and stylish, he traditional-looking pleated door panels suit the truck's old-fashioned look, nd a beautifully sculpted dashboard ties it all together. Of course, verything is standard equipment here, ncluding power windows, tilt steering column, nd A/C, aking this a rod you could drive cross-country without complaints. It's all in wonderful condition with only minor signs of use and the coordination of finishes and colors is quite attractive. The steering wheel is a vintage piece that's been dressed to match and you have a full array of Auto Meter gauges, ncluding three auxiliary dials up in their own pods on top of the dash. Cool, ight? There's also an AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds great in the well-insulated cab and a custom center console to house the very, ery cool electronic shifter. Take a look!Plenty of power is on tap courtesy of a 355 cubic inch Chevy V8 with a 6-71 Littlefield blower, ll put together by the guys at Big Al's Toy Box. Hanging out in the open like that, ou get tons of chrome and polished aluminum, ut up close you'll find that service access is quite good and the hardware is designed to be functional first and foremost. A pair of big Edelbrock carburetors feed the boosted small block and it sounds harmonious thanks to a custom-built Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The chassis is a Chevy S-10 pickup, o you get modern steering and brakes, ith a modified rear suspension that consists of ladder bards and coil-overs. A tough TH400 3-speed automatic shrugs off the blown engine's power and feeds a custom-narrowed Ford 9-inch with disc brakes on both ends. Oversized rolling stock gives it that wicked stance, ith those giant Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires out back planting the power without effort.Beautifully built and seriously fast, his Studebaker should pretty much wreck the curve for every other vintage pickup you're looking at.
