Description of 1992 Subaru SVX LSL Coupe 2-Door

1992 Subaru SVX LS-L Touring

We are pleased to present this exceptional and impossibly rare 1992 Subaru SVX LS-L Touring. First, a bit about SVXs. These cars were produced between 1992 and 1997 and roughly 7000 examples were imported to the United States. They were designed as a technical exercise to demonstrate Subaru's engineering and manufacturing superiority and feature a 230 horsepower 3.3 Liter Horizontally-Opposed "Flat 6" engine featuring 4 cams and 24 valves, along with 7 main bearings. The exterior was styled by Gorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign in Italy, famous for designing many timeless exotic and supercars. Its most notable feature is its window-within-window design with glass-to-glass canopy. This window design allows the glass to extend all the way to the roof line of the car, and the windows can be completely down in rain or snow without wind or weather entering the cabin. This particular SVX was originally sold by Kinley's Subaru in Williamsport, PA. It was then traded in by its original owner, and sold by them pre-owned to its second owner as we are SVX enthusiats. In fact, I personally have owned an SVX for over 15 years. They are incredibly under-rated cars which are vastly ahead of their time. These cars are an incredibly great way to acquire an exotic looking sports car for very little money. There isn't a day that I drive my SVX that I'm not asked about it by strangers. It is the opinion of several automotive journalists that the SVX is poised to increase in value as it has become quite rare, and is technologically significant. The developmet and production of the car also has a very interesting story.

The charcoal leather seats are in very good condition. The drivers seat has a bit of wear, or as I like to call it, "patina" which is normal for a car of this age and mileage, but overall the leather is very well above average for an SVX or virtually any car of this age. The car has zexel automatic climate control which works properly. The original Air Conditioning system functions as it should. This car has the premim audio system with 6 upgraded speakers and a CD Player All of it works correctly including the CD player and the power antenna. For safety, this Subaru has a drivers side airbag. The trunk area is in beautiful condition. The owners manual booklet is there. It does have a power operated drivers seat. It has the touring package which cosists of a power moonroof, leather interior with Ecsaine (synthetic suede) trimmed dash and door panels, speed sensitive power steering, CD player with premium speakers, heated door mirrors, and more.

The outside of this SVX is GORGEOUS and is finished in the stunning and very very rare color combination of Claret Mica with Black roof and trunk lid. Claret is a color which normally looks fairly boring, UNLESS the paint is in such nice condition as it is on this car. It absolutely pops, and people always compliment it. This color is really quite striking. The paint is in gorgeous shape, except for some average scratches and light stone chips which have actually been touched up, so they're not too noticeable unless you're looking directly at them. There is ABSOLUTELY NO RUST on the body. Not on the doors, not on the rear quarter panels. None. We had the car completely gone over by a paintless dent removal specialist and all door dings have been removed. It has 17" preiod-correct Enkei Shogun wheels which are considered to be THE BEST SVX wheel option. They are virtually impossible to find anywhere and are worth a small fortune. Should you prefer stock wheels, a set of like-new condition stock wheels can be fitted to the car instead. The car has also been fitted with K&B JDM Lowering Springs which are one of only 3 sets ever known to be imported from Japan. We installed these to alleviate the somewhat awkward stance of the SVX. They make all the difference in the world. The headlamps are crystal clear. Something that's also incredibly rare is the Accessory Stripe kit which was installed when the car was sold originally. This consists of a gold pin stripe along the beltline, and a gold SVX decal on the rear quarter garnish in front of the rear wheels. These stripe kits are completely unobtainable and almost unheard of as they didn't have a very high take rate when the cars were new. This also provides assurances that the car retains all of its original paint, as the stripe kit is original.
The tires are matching Michelin Pilots with excellent tread remaining. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops as it should. The car drives perfectly. In fact, it drives much nicer than my person SVX does which has less than half the mileage of this one! The engine and transmission operate properly. The transmission has been replaced with a Subaru Remanufactured transmission, which are considered to be the most reliable option when retaining the stock transmission configuration. We also completed a transmission fluid and filter service as part of the process of preparing the car for sale. The wheel bearings are silent. These 6 Cylinder models rarely have mechanical problems. It's also important to note that this Subaru features their incredible and bulletproof "Symmetrical All Wheel Drive." This is one of the best AWD systems on the market, and these cars go absolutely anywhere, no matter the weather.

This car was featured on Jalopnik's "Nice Price or Crack Pipe" feature where it grabbed an incredible 83% voting it as "Nice Price". Cars hardly ever come close to that rating, and it certainly shows that we have this SVX priced properly. You can find the post by clicking here.

DONT miss out! This is your OPPORTUNITY to own a fabulous and rare SVX from the first year of production in a fabulous color. This car car is mechanically awesome. You will not find a nicer, more well-sorted SVX for sale.

In many cases, it is more efficient and economical to have your car shipped to your home or office. There are various options. With affordable shipping to anywhere in the world, it is now easier than ever to find exactly the car you want at a price you like.

Since you're bidding, or making an offer, on a car which you may have not seen in person, it is important that a level of trust be established between you, our customer, and us, the dealership. This is why we post between 30 and 60 high-resolution images of every car we sell on ebay. We pride ourselves in having the most detailed, highest resolution images on ebay, and we use the finest photography equipment in order to catch even the smallest details of the cars that we sell. In addition, the description above provides a comprehensive walk-around of the car including the interior, exterior, and mechanical systems. We even will fill you in on any previous maintenance that we've performed. Regardless, all cars that we sell have been thoroughly checked for safety by our in-house master technician. In addition, we road-test every car we sell very extensively before offering it. If there are any issues with the car that are present, they will be mentioned in the auction. Because we road test the cars extensively, it is possible that the car may have more miles on it than when the auction was listed. We always encourage you to come check out the car in person before bidding or making an offer. If you are too far away to do this, there are several inspection services that can review the car, or we can take the car to a local garage of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection.
Please note that a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. This deposit can be made by contacting us directly and can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone. Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply.

Non-paying buyers will be reported to ebay. We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep. We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer).
Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle. They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new. Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time. We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail. This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles. The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure. Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.
