For sale is a very nice 1986 Subaru GL Hatchback. It is equipped with the EA-71 1600CC engine. It is a front wheel drive vehicle with 109,726 miles. This car sat in a garage for almost 20 years and was not driven. The following work has been done in the last 8 months by the current owner: New tires, brakes, wheels powder coated, new chrome trim rings, new fuel pump, professionally refurbished fuel tank, refurbished fuel sender, fuel filters, rear shocks, exhaust mid pipe with catalytic converter, valves adjusted, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, new rebuilt carburetor, intake gaskets, thermostat and gasket, radiator and hoses. All fluids flushed and filled. This car runs and drives great, 70 mph no problem on the highway. No problems with the transmission, shifts smoothly with no grinding in all 5 gears and reverse. Interior is very clean for its age, no rips, stains, or tears in the seats. A power window and mirror kit was installed from a GL-10 and works well. One direction of the drivers power mirror seems not to work but can be adjusted by hand. Cassette player seems to be tired as well, but powers on. As for the body, for a 31 year old Subaru it is in very good condition. There is a small amount of rust forming in front of the rear tires on the rockers. You have to understand that these cars rotted out very quickly, and it is a miracle it is still in this savable condition. There is minor blemishes and surface rust in other spots, but not rotted through. Paint shines nicely, some decent dings and dents, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a 31 year old car. Most dents could be removed with some paintless dent removal. I recommend coming to look at the car in Hebron, CT if you are concerned about condition. The car runs excellent and can be driven anywhere. If you plan to drive it away, be sure you have your own registration and license plate. Local delivery can be arranged for an extra charge, as long as I am paid first. Buyer must pay for the car within 3 days of auction end. I do not need to sell this car, so save any unreasonable offers for someone else. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and charges AFTER I collect full payment. |
