Description of 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser

**SCROLL DOWN FORMANY MORE PHOTOS**
Up for auction is a great original 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. This Land Cruiser was originally bought in Anchorage, laska in 1972. The original owner then moved to Connecticutin the late 1970's (1st titled in CT in 1981....see photo)where it lived for over 3 decades with the same family! Now it is in New Jersey and remains a rare East Coast FJ40! Title is clear and in hand. This Land Cruiser has never been restored, ut is in great shape with 111k original miles. It has not been driven during the winter over the past 20 years and has only been used as a fair weather vehicle during that time and garage kept.
There is no rust or rot and this Land Cruiser FJ40is mechanically strong. The 1F engine, ransmission, nd transfer case are all original with matching VINs. The 3-speed floor shifter shifts smoothlyas well as the 4x4 high and low. The brakes have recently been upgraded to 4-wheel disc brakes, hich makes for easy stopping! The tires (except spare), eavy duty rear springs and greasable shacklesare new, nd an OEM exhaust was installed within the last 2 years. The exterior has been repainted with a durable epoxy paint and the frame undercoateda couple of years ago. You can see the original weld spots on the hood and under the side windows (see photos). All the gauges, ndicator lights, ome light, arking brake, igarette lighter, witches, windshield wipers, nd exterior lights are in working order!1972 was the only year with the 3 piece front bench seat, hich was recently stripped down, epainted, and re-upholstered with new foam.Custom fit carpet frontfloor mats and rear carpet mat. New 3-point seatbelts in the front and lap belts on the rear jump seats. The roll bar and rear jump seats are from a 1977 FJ40....I am including the original seats (see last fewphotos below)as I don't think they should be separated from their FJ40! The truck originally did not come with a roll bar; therefore the original rear seats are longer and would require the roll bar to be taken out or modification with the mountingin order tobe reinstalled. The FJ40 has been driven mainly with the top off, o the roll bar has been more important than the original seats (without roll bar). The headliner was also just replaced and newOEM sun visors installed. Other new OEM (Toyota) parts replaced are the side mirrors, unning boards, ail lights (pictured with hardtop), nd rear reflectors to keep the truck asoriginal as possible. There is a storage box in the rear floor of the truck (see photo). I have some of the original manuals, st title, nd original vehicle ID card (see last photos).
Below are my known disclosures......Its hard to cover everything, o please ask all questions prior to bidding!
1.) The chokeand choke cableon the carburetorare not functional. The truck has only been used in fair weather the past 20 years, o starting has never been an issue. Also, here is a engine block heater.2.) The rear heater fan is currently not working. I just discovered this during my inspection since I have only driven the truck in fair weather. The switch on the dash works (heater gets power)and the heater core works as there is hot water flowing through the core. My guess is that it should only need a new fan motor.3.) The windshield washer tank and pumparegone.4.) The emissions equipment is bypassed like most FJs.5.) The windshield is original and shows. There is a chip in the windshield that the original owner says has been there for 30 years...it has been sealed. All other glass is fine.6.) The front door windows, ncluding wing windows, re fully functional; however, he window felts should be replaced.7.) Light surface rust in engine compartment andabove foot pedals.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this great classic....it is hard to let it go!! Happy Bidding : )
