Description of 1988 Toyota Supra |
Very rare low mileage MK III Toyota Supra premium sports car with removable targa top option only 128. 59 actual miles- low for a 2005 let alone a classic 88!! Legendary 7M-GE inline engine. Known for being able to handle 550-600HP on it's stock internals. but in stock form can last virtually forever!Runs and drives wellVery fun car to drive! Especially with the top offStops amazingly well for original brakes! Truly impressive ABS 4 wheel disc brakesTMS electronically adjustable suspension performs flawlessly. Three settings- first is comfort. Second is firmer. Third comes on automatically if it senses hard cornering. acceleration or brakingPower and normal modes for automatic transmission with overdrive eliminator button too for sporty driving characteristics- I always left in power mode as if provides firm shifts and prolongs clutchband lifeHeater and all electronically controlled HVAC system works great. fan blows nice and hard. and all vent/defroster controls work properly Ac could be colder though- could maybe use a recharge when summer comes around. but you'll probably be rolling with the top off anyways:) Too much funNew O2 sensors- both up and downstreamPerformance stainless steel muffler has such a sweet. deep. and mellow tone- sounds incredible and adds a small bit of horsepower and torque over the factory 200 horsepower and 200 ft/lbsTinted windows look great against the factory white paintNo stereo. but available on ebay for as little as 26 bucks for a brand new unit. Factory stereo plug in glove compartment for easy hookup of whatever you want:) should take you only 15 minutes- if that's a deal breaker just let me know. I'll install a good unit for you- no biggie. Glass is in great condition. even the factory windshield. Wipers work. power windows and mirrors work. All lights work. Pop up headlights are fast and smooth- still operate like newe brake works great and can even hold the car from moving in gear. but the boot is missing-if you care. you can get a new leather boot on ebay for 26 bucksInterior is still pretty nice. especially considering her vintage. Headliner looks great too. She is missing a few trim pieces like the sliding power lock door trim (hardly noticeable) . the plate that is directly below the steering wheel near the drivers knees (hardly noticeable too) and a very small triangular piece on the door near the side mirror-should be easy to locate one for cheap if you care. The hood release lever is cracked but still fully operational. Hydraulic struts for the hood and rear hatch still work great:) carpet looks especially great for her vintage. Overall a super clean original car-check the pics! The original head gasket was replaced about 5000 miles ago by the previous owner and I cant see any visible leaks. and the engine compartment is still almost clean enough to eat off of. As I understand most of these blow due to a too low torque setting from the factory. and generally required replacement at 70k or so. Good to know this one was so well taken care of it made it so far before requiring. And nice to know it's been done along with the timing belt and water pump. So you don't have to:) Sometimes after warming up the idle revs up a bit. but being an automatic. it will never be noticed. Just bumps up a bit if left idling for 15 min or so. May just need a cleaning of the Idle air control (IAC) motor. but like I said. it doesn't happen when driving at all-needs to be idling for some time in neutral or park to even experience it so no biggieBrand new front tires only 8 miles on them- rears still hold air and tread is still decent but recommend replacement soon-I say have fun burning them up or wait for summer to replace- still so much tread leftReally nice Toyota factory 5 spoke performance alloys rims. Strong and light- so why change them?? Would make a great tuner car. drifter or race car. or leave her stock as a great daily driver! In fact. I challenge you to enjoy her as the Toyota engineers envisioned! So great the way she is. Top notch engineering and build quality that made Toyota famous. Would make a great Christmas present for your favorite car guy or gal. Or even for yourself!Thank you for looking and please feel free to contact me with any questions you have |
