Description of 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser

Meet our handsome "Zafiro" which means sapphire in Spanish. This is a second series 1979 FJ43 with gas tank below and other model specific upgrades same as the 1980 and later FJs. Truck is in Colombia and will be exported in January 25, 016. You will see a few missing details such as emblems and new hood tie downs etc which we are completing now. You are bidding a truck that will be guaranteed Florida title.

This truck received a 60 day comprehensive overhaul.
We sold SIX FJ43s for around $40,000 just like this truck. No returns on any of our 17 delivered trucks. Ask for references. Please do not compare Volcan 4x4 to the hobbyists and speculators bringing in untouched, n-overhauled trucks. Maybe they are great trucks or maybe they are not. This blue truck drove TERRIBLY before having its 60 days overhaul. 90% of Colombian FJ43s have zero brakes and terrible power steering. Go price a rebuilt FJ40/43 steering box in the USA you will find it is $1000 ask me how I found that out! You want to wire $40,000 to a private bank account in the name of a private citizen that is fine too. If you are a serious buyer, ou can buy a nice FJ43 from a bonded $25,000 Florida dealer with a bank manager at a Florida bank who knows Volcan 4x4 and be driving it in 30 days. No thank you we do not export trucks for others. Too many complications and problems good luck. This truck is not being marketed as a museum truck either. This is about an 8.5 out of 10 truck with 125 compression and ALL the mechanical reviewed to date. If you do not see the value in an overhauled classic car do not buy a classic car continue researching or feel free to ask. We have done 20 vintage 4x4s from light restoration on to frame off and if there is one thing to learn about classic cars is that there are no short cuts.

We outbid another buyer to buy this very rare combination of gorgeous blue, ater series 1979 FJ43 and very good condition. We did not have to repaint this truck other than touch up and change out the windshield and other items. The truck is very very clean underneath and in the wheel wells. The floors are straight and have a light texture paint. If you look VERY carefully the front fenders have a slightly different color blue than the truck. Very very hard to notice.

Please note that this truck has custom hinges to easily remove the front doors. They are heavy and best removed by two people. Takes 2 minutes to take them off or put back on. Need to get rear view mirrors from earlier series and bolt onto the windshield. Should be fun for running on the beach.
We believe this the best way to buy an FJ43. Volcan 4x4 is a bonded dealer and specializes in these trucks. The owner is a US citizen and personally reviews and oversees the overhaul of every truck including driving them in Tampa and reviewing them one more time with a Tampa mechanic before delivery to the client. Do not delay as we do NOT see many of these trucks in this color, odel year and condition. We sold a 1978 FJ43 in the same color last year and it was literally mobbed with people when we did the photo shoot at a marina in Tampa.
Just drove this truck 2 hours in heavy traffic in Colombia and finishing final adjustments. The new carb starts up quickly and runs evenly. Engine pulls strong going up the mountain. Brakes are now just about worn in working properly. Needs a little further adjusting. This is a likely a 55 mph soft top. If that is too slow for you please consider a hard top we had a truck that ran easily 65 mph.
We are asking for a $10,000 refundable deposit. We sell these trucks outbound from Colombia as this is a low volume high quality business. The last two FJ43s we did sold the same way.
