Gen4 3SGTE Engine is essentially all stock with exception of cold air intake and intercooler, ow producing approximately 275hp at 12 psi. Boost controller can be added for about $30 or more depending on how fancy you want to go and the engine will easily produce well over 300hp without any additional modifications. I have been told the engine is capable of handling up to approximately 425hp with a few basic modifications. I have driven the car approximately 300 miles since the Gen4 swap. I had a JDM Gen2 3S-GTE in the car previously and there is absolutely no comparison to the Gen4. There is virtually no turbo lag and the car pulls extremely hard. Night and day difference when compared to Gen2. I am the 3rd owner of the car (plus one intermediate dealer) and have owned her since December, 010. This MR2 has allowed me to relive my past from many years ago. It’s been fun but now I’m ready to move onto another project.
