I bought the 40 to drive around on the weekends.. Took the top off this spring and doubt if it will go back on.YES...the diamond plat is covering old rust damage. Previous owner repaired which can be seen under the floor mats. However, they sprayed underside with a bed liner type product so it is difficult for me to determine exactly what has been done. No power steering or A/C. Original 6cyl 2F engine...runs great. Only improvements I've made are an exhaust, fuel pump and radiator hoses. In my opinion it is one to drive and enjoy but likely not a great candidate for total renovation. I paid 15k in Dec 2015 so hard to justify selling for less.
