Offered is a rare 1980 TE72 Corolla 2 door running project.Engine is the 3TC 1.8 mated to 4 speed trans. Headers and dual core aluminum radiator were recently added with electric fan. Smog pump has been removed as well as the Cat. Headers run straight to a 2.5" carbon fiber Yoshimura muffler. Battery relocated to trunk. Suspension is lowered with lowering springs in front (stock struts) and rear. Has rare 1987 Corolla GTS 14" alloys. Interior has been stripped and black carpeting was added along with Corbeau seats. Drivers is mounted, passenger is not. With the bumpers, interior, smog equipment, stock exhaust, stock radiator, fan, heater core and blower fan removed it is extremely light, I estimate 1600lbs from the already light stock 1885lbs. My plan was to turbo charge the 3t motor and use it as a fun weekend canyon cruiser/drifter. The registration is up to date but title is salvage due to prior theft and recovery in Bakersfield. If the car stays in California and will be used on the street, it will have to be creatively smogged like I have done. If you do an LT or turbo swap, this could be a very capable rear wheel drive drag or drifter!
Condition:The car has an amateur paint job. There are dings here and there and small spots of body work but overall it's a fairly straight car. Originally white with tan interior. It shows no past crash damage and has very minimal rust as it has been a California car since new. The only spot I can see is a rust through spot in the spare tire area of trunk. All glass is good, windshield has a rock ding near top.Interior as noted has been pretty much stripped completely out, dash is painted bare metal, no headliner, drivers door panel was done in vinyl, passenger not.Although a running car, I would recommend that it be trailered or shipped, its been off the road for a few years and it has no front turn signals, rear brake lights need to be wired back up, switch wired for the 12v radiator fan and needs the brakes bled, etc. The wood wheel isn't included, a black leather Grant wheel is now mounted. Some parts are included, such as the smog equip, stock exhaust manifold (no cat), orig steering wheel, original springs etc, although the bumpers and original seats are not. I will be out of the countryuntil Feb 7, so I won't be able to show the car. If buyer wants to buy and pick up or ship the car, it will be available while I'm gone. $500 non refundable deposit is due within 48 hours.
