Description of 1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo

NO RESERVE!! RE-LISTING DUE TO PREVIOUS TOP BIDDER BACKING OUT >:(
Up for sale is my 1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo 5spd, in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Great for summer fun with the removable t-tops! I have owned it since 2015 and have decided to move on to something else (not exactly sure what that is yet, however). Originally an NA, I decided to swap it last year for a Gen5 3SGTE turbo. So while the body has 204k miles, the engine has around 50k miles. The entire upgrade was professionally done by TCS Motorsports, one of the few (possibly only) shops in the US that can do a proper Gen5 install.
A brief history lesson...Toyota produced five generations of the 3SGTE engine, and only two of them were ever released with the MR2 Turbo in the US. The Gen5 3SGTE was manufactured up until 2007-2008 and was primarily fitted into the Toyota Caldina, a turbocharged station wagon that was only released in Japan. So the motor that is in this MR2 is the newest version of the 3SGTE that you'll ever be able to find.

I am the third owner of this MR2, and the previous owner left me with extensive service records which I will include with the car. It was completely repainted in 2009 (same as the original factory red). I also have the service manuals aka the BGB (Big Green Books). These are incredibly helpful for finding info on parts, torque specifications, troubleshooting, etc.
Here is a rundown of the upgrades on this car.
  • Gen5 engine/wiring harness/ECU
  • South Bend Clutch
  • Walbro Fuel Pump
  • New fuel tank
  • 3" dual exhaust system
  • TCS seal package (timing belt, water pump, cam seals, front/rear main seals, thermostat, CV axle seals)
  • TCS Gen5 fuel line kit
  • TCS downpipe
  • TCS air intake kit
  • Gen5 intercooler kit
  • New valve cover gaskets
  • New front tie rod ends (replaced around 201k)
  • New front ball joints (replaced around 201k)
  • New front stabilizer/sway bar links (201k)
  • Yokohama S. Drive 90W 235/40/R17 tires (rears have less than 1000 miles on them)
So there are tons of updates and the car is a blast to drive. I was not prepared for how quick the Gen5 turbo would be and it sounds incredible. Watch the test drive video below to hear how it actually sounds on the road. Everything else works as it should...the stereo is original and the CD skips on even the slightest bumps, but most of the time I have a cassette-auxiliary adapter in it anyways. Paint is near flawless. There are a few small bubble spots around the bottom of the passenger door and rear driver's side wheel well. AC is not currently hooked up. No mechanical flaws or issues....it's a 27 year-old car with a 10 year-old engine and it drives great! Always garaged and never driven in the winter. Well, there was one time where I took it out for a sunny spring drive and the temperature literally dropped 30 degrees within a couple hours, catching me in a surprise snowstorm. I do live in Cleveland after all.
Here are some video clips of the car. Hopefully this gives you an even better idea of how the car looks and runs.
