Description of 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser

For your consideration is a 1980 fully restored(body off) Toyota FJ40. The previous owner had this FJ40 restored about 2 years ago ( complete every nut and bolt). After it was completed they kept it in a climate controlled garage and were afraid to drive it so they only put 200 miles on it although they ran it weekly. No off road time since restoration. I have pics documenting the restoration and I will happily provide to the winning party. Odometer is in kilometers. Currently about 550 mile which may change slightly as it gets driven on the weekend.
Mechanical- the engine was stripped and rebuilt from the ground up. The transfer case as well as the front and rear differentials were gone through as was the manual transmission. This FJ runs very strong and shifts smooth. Considering there is no power steering or brakes it steers and stops well. She starts right up hot or cold without the choke and after a 2 minutes warmup she is ready to go. The 4 wheel drive works as it should as do all the gear ranges high and low. Note the highly desirable rear ambulance doors. You name it its was replaced or rebuilt. New clutch and gas tank also. Entire frame was powder coated.
Body- professional restoration no rust no bondo or body filler. Body and paint very nice and was stripped to bare metal prior to single stage paint. Interior is perfect.Glass is all good. Suspension all new as are body and motor mounts. I did Install aftermarket rear shackles to stiffen the rear since the OEM as a bit soft. Original yellow paint per VIN ID tag.Lights all work. I did change out some parts that were not OEM. Front turn signals alone OEM are 500.00 This FJ40 deserves OEM parts. Tires and wheels (OEM) are brand new (2000.00). Top is in new condition. I have been following the routine rebuilt engine break in and changed the oil at 500 miles. All nuts and bolts re torqued.Clear MS title in hand.
I am not a dealer but a collector who purchased it as a fun vehicle I though my teenage kids would enjoy driving around town. They werenâ€™t as thrilled with the tactile sensation of driving an FJ than I expected ( they donâ€™t like manual transmission). I drive it on nice days however my primary interests are in European cars thus the sale of this fine example of an FJ40. While this is completely restored cosmetically and mechanically itâ€™s still a 40 year old vehicle and thatâ€™s the fun driving and using it. There are companies out there that offer restored FJ40 for 200k not sure what you get for that but this is a rig you will be able to enjoy and drive for years without any worries and not be afraid to drive. This was a 60k restoration with the original drive train and engine completely rebuilt. The underside looks as good as the top side. New door cards also. When I say everything replaced/rebuilt I mean everything.

Storage space is tight for my collection and thatâ€™s another reason Iâ€™m selling but I can find room somewhere if I have to without giving it away.
