Description of 1988 Toyota SR-5 Xtracab 4x4, Clean, PS, PB, A/C

Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the classic and muscle car business. I have been watching this truck for 10 years in north Louisiana. It was behing a guys house underneath a carport. I kept telling myself if I see somone outside I am going to stop and try to buy it. Well 4 years ago I saw the guy and his grandson outside so I did. He said "I am not ready to part with her yet but I will call you if and when I do. 5 or so weeks ago he did in fact call me. I was floored, so I hurried up and drove 450 miles to pay him and pick it up. This is a 2 owner truck sold at Robbins Toyota in Texarkana..Toyota Motor Corporation, and specifically their trucks, have a sterling reputation around the world for reliability and engineering. But that reputation has been hard-earned, and they have clearly come a long way from their 1964 Stout, Toyota's first attempt to crack the enormous American truck market. Incremental improvements, often described as evolutionary rather than revolutionary, allowed the talented research and development teams to virtually perfect their products. So, by the time that this 1988 SR-5 4x4 Xtracab was manufactured, the die was cast and the word 'bulletproof' was forever associated with Toyota's products. The heart of this gem is the legendary 22R-E engine, one of the toughest and most reliable engines ever made, and as responsible for the 'bulletproof' moniker as any single component. Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, 5-speed manual transmission, and AM/FM stereo. This truck is in outstanding condition with very good sheet metal, excellent interior and upholstery, and an amazing chassis. Here's the scary part. This jewel has accumulated under 76,000 miles in 32 years, runs like a champ, and there are MANY of these trucks for sale with hundreds of thousands of miles on them. The paint on the roof and wiper cowl area has faded some. The 2nd owner had a deer run into the passenger side and he had that repainted. The bed on the driver's side has faded just a tad as well as this must have been the side that got the sun in the carport. It still has all the vin stickers present on the body so no panels have been replaced. It has an old type metal camper that you can have if you wish. THIS THING MAY LAST FOREVER! Fountain of youth not included. Street Dreams 830-997-1950) is a full service dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and financing options.
